Hogs’ Welsh misses exhibition game on suspension

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP)—Arkansas guard Stefan Welsh was suspended for the team’s first exhibition game and coach John Pelphrey didn’t say how long the senior would be out of the lineup.

Welsh started 24 games last season.

Pelphrey did not say why Welsh is suspended. He said Welsh has worked very hard in school and in practice lately.

Arkansas beat Dillard 77-59 in its first exhibition game Monday night.

Welsh was not one of the three Razorbacks named in a recent rape complaint. A local prosecutor decided not to file charges in that case, saying there wasn’t enough evidence.

I agree so much with that comment! I just hope we don't fall apart like last season. Let Clark shoot every time and he could become the next Reddick. Fortson is good, but he needs to calm down a little bit and quit trying to do too much. Washington, I'm glad to have back. Hope he has another good season. An upset against Louisville would be nice!

Just another sad mark on the Hog's B-Ball program. So much young talent and a good coach. Why do the players here act like street thugs? To bad more can't be more Christian like and community figures as Mr. Rotnie Clark
