Draft week was busy for the Jazz, who celebrated the official announcement of Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams as members of the U.S. Olympic basketball team, selected Ohio State center Kosta Koufos in the first round of the NBA Draft and were preparing to start contract extension talks with Williams.

The Jazz were the only NBA team to have two players selected to the 12-man Olympic team. They didn't resist linking their past or present, either, arranging side-by-side pictures of Williams and John Stockton and Boozer and Karl Malone in USA Basketball jerseys for a news conference.

On draft night, the Jazz watched as nearly every big man they brought to Utah for a workout went to a team picking ahead of them.

The Utah Jazz exercised the team option on forward Paul Millsap and made a qualifying offer to shooting guard C.J. Miles on Saturday. Millsap has been a surprise contributor to the Jazz since they got him with the 47th pick in the 2006 draft. He has played in all 164 regular-season games and the 29 playoff games Utah has played in the last two seasons.

Former BYU basketball player Travis Hansen hopes to be wearing red, white and blue at the Olympics this summer -- for Russia. The U.S. has the same colors as Russia, where Hansen has been embraced for his basketball skills and humanitarian efforts. He is so well liked in Russia that he has been given citizenship and an invitation to the national team's Olympic training camp.

Utah forward Matt Harpring had surgery to remove two bone spurs from his right ankle. The Jazz say Harpring had surgery Thursday in Atlanta. The team wasn't sure how long Harpring's recovery would take. Harpring is the team's oldest player at 32. He just finished his 10th season in the league, averaging 8.2 points and 3.2 rebounds as Utah's sixth man.
