Shaquille O'Neal

Phoenix Suns team physician Dr. Thomas Carter said he was "pleasantly shocked" at O'Neal's physical condition when he was examined Wednesday. O'Neal weighed in at 321 pounds and measured 11 percent body fat. There was no evidence of arthritis in O'Neal's hip and the current injury was limited to the outside of the hip — and is already well on the way to healing.

"You hear things about him having concerns, but what we saw didn't look problematic," Carter said.

I guess we can't really knock this until we see what he can do. I still think Shaq is past his glory days and needs to retire. He is often hurt and can't contribute the way he once did. But only time will tell though. He may very well surprise and be strong again

Lawrence L ... Shaq doesn't care that you think he's great, and the rest of us here don't care about your jackhole spam comments. Try eating raw pork. See where that gets you. Much obliged.

shak is a big guy with a lot of promise, with some practice, some will, he will be good. I saw him in college at LSU, he will be a good pro.

I agree with 13, I saw the guy too, he's real good, but I hope he can overcome not having Dale Brown to coach him.
Also, he owns my gym, so it seems like he has a good business sense.
When I grow up, I want to be like Shaq.

Give them a true center, Amare will be back in his natural power forward position. Let shaq rolls, a fastbreak doesn't need all five offensive players bring the ball!!!!!! Go Shaq! Go Suns, my new team!

Good call 11. All the haters out there. Probably lakers fans mad because they can't win without Shaq. Shaq is also playing for a better team than when he was on the heat and won.

were those comments about shaq coming from a doctor or a pr person? if he in such good shape why was he playing so poorly in miami? the whole city was begging them 2 trade him. and aint no way hes weighing 321 lbs. he was never so light even during the 3peat years in la. i cant wait 4 bynum 2 come back and shatter shaqs hip, knees, and ankles with some of his slick post moves.
    go lakers!!!

all these yahoo analysts first jumped the gun that the trade is really bad for suns. 2 days later they are like, it does not look that bad. I am sure steve kerr pulled in a few favours to change their mind!

Shaq will help this team become better than it already is. He has a way of helping a team become more focused and he has the attitude that will help them reach the championship. I have met Shaq and his joking playful attitude is real but he also is serious when it comes to basketball. GO SHAQ!!!

shaq is a born winner. he is a lucky guy going to teams that he can help. the expectation is at least the western conference title and then roll the dice against boston. but sorry lakers will beat suns in the conference final.
