Pau Gasol has a torn hamstring?

“PauThe word is that Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Pau Gasol(notes) has a tear in is hamstring so don't be expecting to see him in the lineup in the next week, according to the Los Angeles Times.

According to the paper, a sonogram over the weekend showed a possible tear in his right hamstring. So he got some MRI tests done yesterday, which team docs will look at today. The news of a tear would not be a good thing for the Barcelona-born 7-foot forward/center.

Wow - I'm First. This would really suck, but I would rather have him at the end of the season then the beginning (if I have to choose one or the other.

Titles are not won in November, get him healthy and get him back, I think LA has enough fire power to hold off most other teams in the mean time. GO LAKERS!!!

Maybe next summer he'll actually take a vacation instead of playing ball. NBA titles are what he's getting paid for.Seasons young so plenty of time to recover.

not a good look...but we have enough talent to maintain until he returns.. resigning Odom in the offseason is paying dividends already...Bynum looks great too

It's already started, The injury cycle. Yeah! Yeah! the Lakers are the Champioms of 2008 -2009 but it's a new year with the same old problems. I am sure glad the Team put in a revolving door to the training room. I just hope no one gets stuck in it as well. Same problems Injury after injury, Give it a week or two Bynum and Gasol will be able to share a nice cold bath together. Same ol same ol. Just think what it would be like if the Lakers had healthy players for the whole year. Is this the excuses popping through already. Are the Celtics really the team to beat. I think so. While the other teams got better the Lakers added a band aide to the group in Artest. Go Lakers!

This is good news in the Long Run for LA. Now Bynum can develop more and Odom will c more playing time. BTW, did they drop Vujacic yet? Looks like Shannon Brown should be playing back up to bryant for good now.

Lakers practice is probably more strenuous than the entire Euro championship series which caused the tired legs which led to the injury ... during preseason preactice. Pau should now get the rest he maybe should have gotten during the summer.

A hamstring tear is worse than a strain (the initial report), the recovery probably 8 to 10 times as long. There is probably no exact time. It takes as long as it takes

I wish these multi million a year athletes would stop playing over seas during the off season and rest up for the team that pays them.

I agree with Deepak N (Post #17). I want Pau back soon but it does allow us to develope other players in his absence. I heard they did not pick up the option for Farmar and Morrison but what about Vujacic?? His new nick name should be "Trade-acic". Luke Walton should go before Farmar though.
