Nets staying in Jersey?

There's been a lot of resistance to the New Jersey Nets' planned move to Brooklyn, but the company line is still that the new arena there will be built and the team will move on over when that is done. But there is apparently a contingent within the team's offices that would love it if the team just moved to Newark; played at the home of the New Jersey Devils, the Prudential Center; and scrapped the whole crazy plan to build an arena in the most crowded part of Brooklyn, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

The Nets play at the Prudential Center tonight and there are some who believe that if the team can get enough fans to show up for the preseason game, it'll at least show the biggest wigs on the team that people will come out for games in Newark more than they do at the team's current home, the Izod.

If nothing else, a good turnout could help the Izod become the interim home of the Nets while the Brooklyn arena is built.

The Nets have no fans anyhow...most people in northern jersey are Knicks fans and south jersey are Sixers fans. I don't think anyone would even really care.

Dude Lebron ain't going to the Knicks or Nets, no one want's to go there. I see Lebron with the Celtics and or the Bulls maybe even the Clippers. Even Cleveland has a better chance of retaining Lebron.

Hey #7 or should I call you Mr.Goofball , why in the whole wide world would Lebron go to the stinky Celtics , Bulls , or any other team , he is from Cleveland and he loves playing here and is using his leverage to get management to get better players , his Mom came on local television here many times and she said he is not going anywhere , its just hype and he is just playing along , so dream on suckers!

Everyone knows Lebron will be gone from Cleveland next year, unless they win something beyond the first round, hes tired of losing with this team, and wants to go with a winner.
