Rondo's camp wants $12 million a year. Celtics offering $9 million a year. I think $10 million a year is good for Rondo. Rondo puts up above average all-around numbers and is a top defender at his position. He's a PG who can rebound and he gets steals. You can compare his number to some of the top PG's and he's right there with them. But can he carry a team like D.Rose did with the Bulls? Dont think so cause he couldnt score enough. Another big issue is his marketability. Does Rondo put people in the seats like D.Will, CP3, Nash, or D.Rose? Nope. People wouldnt pay to see him like they would pay to see other PG's. So for all this, $10 million a year is a good fair deal. Who's gonna give him more beside maybe the Knicks? Any other team most likely will be a losing situation. Celtics have leverage because they are a winning organization so they can play hard ball and tell Rondo to take $12mil/yr and lose or take $10mil/yr and be in the championship hunt for a least the next few years.
