NBA - Sports Rumors

“LeBronNext summer is going to be crazy in the world of the NBA with all the talented folks who are going to be free agents and nobody is going to be feeling it more than the world's biggest free agent: LeBron James(notes).

For a short while, it was believed that James would move to New York so he could dominate that city and expand his empire. But the New York Knicks have continued to implode, so there's no real attraction to leaving the comforts of home to attempt to right a quickly sinking ship. What everybody seems to think now is that James will eventually re-sign with the Cavs for a tidal wave of cash. But now comes another option: Move to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers don't have a lot of salary room but they'd love, love, love to team up Kobe Bryant(notes) and LeBron James, according to Bulls.com. The 31-year-old Bryant is going to need someone to pass along the keys to the Laker Mythologymobile. And why not the 24-year-old James? James doesn't seem afraid to take a strong supporting role, which would likely suit Bryant just fine.

But somehow L.A. has to convince Cleveland to do a sign-and-trade deal because there is no other way to fit James under its current salary structure right now. Still, that could mean a talented player for Cleveland instead of the big nothing it will get if James walks next summer.

Why is Bulls.com reporting about the Cavs and the Lakers?
They should be reporting how horrible Vinny Del Negro is at coaching.

ICarlo I love the Bulls and we are playing fairly decent. I kinda agree with you on Vinny's coaching though. But this thing with LeBron and Kobe, who's gonna play just the two of them? The lakers salary stucture is not that big.

Kobe's ego would take too much of a hit after no longer being the star player on the team. Same thing as with Kobe/Shaq. Not gonna happen.

Interesting, well Lebron would get to play in a big city and gets lots of attention. But, he'd have to be a team player. If he chooses the latter then the Lakers should, I won't say for sure, should finally eclipse Boston for the most titles within the next ten years. But the only way Lebron will do it, especially for less money, is if they shower him with endorsements. But in Los Angeles?

This is the only way Lebron could joing the all time greats like, Magic, Wilt, Kobe, Jordan, Russell, Kareem etc etc... It makes sense on many levels as it would allow Kobe an opportunity at more titles late in his career and give lebron his first and best chance at numerous titles.
If this goes down we could have a run better than the Celtics of the 60's in an era of MUCH better talent.....

Hey They Bad Guy.....he would hae to be a team player? I guess you have never watch him play. Lebron is a team player in every sense of the word. He passes the ball all the time. He could lead the league in scoring every year if he wanted to but he makes it a point to get his teammates involved. Think before you post Dumb Guy.

First of all I am a cavs fan and I don't think this will happen. But as a long time witness to the cleveland sports curse I can say this, I want Lebron to be recognized for the truly unique athelete he is. I want him to win multiple titles so he is not a footnote like malone and barkley when it comes to being recognized as an all time great. As much as it will suck for Cleveland, and I would like him to win somewhere besides the Celts/lakers/knicks, if Lebron doesn't win it here this season, I will not fault him for leaving.

honestly i doubt this would happen. as a Laker fan i think i would be stunned if it did. might as well hand the championships to LA, even after Kobe hangs them up. Jerry Buss i hope you got deeeeeeeeeep pockets. one of them would have to run the point.

First Time ever posting a comment on here...Only because I had to express how ridiculous this story is...The material of these writers is just getting more far-fetched by the day...Tomorrow's head line "Lebron leaving Cleveland to Start Team in Mexico City"...Mark J. Miller is losing any credibility as a writer with garbage like this...
