The Boston Celtics knew they wanted to sign point guard Rajon Rondo(notes) to a long-term, lucrative extension. After all, he had helped the team to a championship in his second season and could be on the way there this year. But the team was a little concerned about his maturity level, his "aloof personality," and his lack of ability to connect with teammates sometimes, according to the Boston Globe.
In the negotiations, the team apparently addressed the issues and asked him to step it up on the personality front. "They just want to see it grow congruently with what the team's objectives are," said his agent. "They just said we'd like you to be more engaged, take more responsibility as a leader on and off the court. The message was heard and I don't think it's that big of an issue. He's understanding that.''

everyone talks trash and everyone responds like $h|T... and with KG, RayRay and PP33 are now at the wrong end of their 30s, celtics made a right move to re-sign him..... they made a right choice.. because his stock might be even higher when 90% of 2010 FA/RFA resign.. teams with heaps of money will overpay him more than this. LOL.

If that is the case:
Boston just blew 55 million. Rondo will fail badly.

i dont know if hes worth $55 million. his potential is kind of like a poor mans j kidd. hes an good defender, a good rebounder, hes way more athletic, but probably an even worse shooter, not nearly as good a passer and obviously is severely lacking in leadership.
