Rookie leads Rockets over Jazz 113-96

SALT LAKE CITY (AP)—Rookie Chase Budinger(notes) scored a career-high 17 points and was one of eight Houston players to score in double figures as the Rockets beat the Utah Jazz 113-96 on Monday night.

The Rockets pulled away with a 13-0 run early in the fourth quarter and won in Salt Lake City for the first time since spoiling the Jazz’s home opener two years ago.

Aaron Brooks(notes) had 19 points and nine assists and Luis Scola(notes) added 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Rockets, who made eight of their first 12 shots in the fourth quarter to blow open a three-point game.

Deron Williams(notes) had 18 points and eight assists and Andrei Kirilenko(notes) added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Jazz, who fell to 1-2.
