SAN ANTONIO (AP)—Tim Duncan(notes) had 24 points and 12 rebounds, and the San Antonio Spurs halted the Milwaukee Bucks’ three-game winning streak with a 112-98 victory Monday night.

Matt Bonner(notes) had 23 points off the bench and the Spurs won consecutive games for only the second time this season. They also finally took advantage of a big night from Duncan, having previously been 0-4 when the All-Star scored 20 or more.

Ersan Illyasova led Milwaukee with 20 points. Brandon Jennings(notes) scored 12, held well below his rookie-leading average of 25.3 points per game.

Michael Redd(notes) scored four points in his first action in nine games. The former All-Star strained a tendon in his left knee when he went up for a dunk during Milwaukee’s first game of the season.

Grizzlies 116, Kings 105

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP)—Rudy Gay(notes) scored 24 points, O.J. Mayo(notes) added 20 and the Grizzlies beat Sacramento, sending the Kings to their fourth straight loss.

Marc Gasol(notes) finished with 18 points and four blocks for Memphis, which won for the fourth time in the last five games. Zach Randolph(notes) had 16 and Mike Conley(notes) added 11 points and seven assists.

Rookie Tyreke Evans(notes) led the Kings with 28 points, connecting on 10-of-18 from the field, and Sergio Rodriguez(notes) had 16 points and seven assists. Omri Casspi(notes), the rookie from Israel, scored 15 and Donte Greene(notes) had 11.

Memphis led from start to finish, building the advantage to as many as 21.

Clippers 91, Timberwolves 87

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Al Thornton(notes) scored 31 points and Baron Davis(notes) made a clinching layup with 8.5 seconds remaining after missing his first nine shots to extend the Timberwolves’ losing streak to 13 games.

Davis’ streak of 468 consecutive regular-season games with at least one field goal was in jeopardy until he drove the lane for a layup after dribbling the ball for at least 10 seconds. He finished with two points and six assists in 23 minutes.

The last time the 11-year veteran point guard failed to make a field goal was Feb. 25, 2002—against the Timberwolves—when he played 12 minutes for the Charlotte Hornets and missed both shots before leaving after one quarter with a bruised chest.

Trail Blazers 122, Bulls 98

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP)—Greg Oden(notes) tied a career high with 24 points and LaMarcus Aldridge(notes) also had 24.

Oden, the first pick of the 2007 NBA draft, missed one of his eight shots from the field and added 12 rebounds. Aldridge pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Blazers had five players score in double figures. Brandon Roy(notes) had 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Andre Miller(notes) scored 16 and Rudy Fernandez(notes) 13.

Luol Deng(notes) scored 25 points and John Salmons(notes) added 22 for the Bulls.

Portland’s 122 points was a season high and the Trail Blazers outrebounded the Bulls 47-27.

i thought last year was the year of the Cavs and lebron? ohh wait do cavs fans just copy n paste that comment each year until it actually happens? one man show does not win rings trust me i know because i saw it first hand with pierce trying to carry the team, it just doesnt work its too hard because great teams will shut down that one player and then what, nothing... and if you guys are banking on shaq when is the last time he played a full season and stayed healthy?

    Hey fans,

Heard Michael on Amad telling lebron no need to retire his number, unless you retire all the greats, the game is bigger than one player, Jordan is a myth and a legend and great basketball player and give it to the man, still has a little humility, stayed in chicago and put it firmly on the map, much like gretzky and edmonton.
It's easy to sell out to the big market, make your home town proud stay in cleveland. Ha ha ha and you said you can't say anything tell Shaq to lose some weight and you guys will win a championship and keep it and dynasty that @#$%, and when that next punk kid says he wants to retire your number tell him you ain't won one championship yet.
    How did Nash fool everyone?
The Ice man had soul, so did the ABA....Dr. J dunked better the Jordan ask Cooper. The Wizard chose the hard way. ..Vancouver Seattle pro basket ball gone, ask Bibby.
If James is interested in myth building staying in Cleveland will play better in AsiA.

Hawks look pretty good. It's going to be an interesting season in terms of standings. I root for Spurs but it's gonna be tough for them, even with all the upgrades. They'll compete, though. They've got a chance, which they wouldn't have had w/o the changes.

What does james think he is ? Some kind of King ?? If he's not going to wear 23 then noone should !! What a piece of sh*t he is. I hope evryone keeps their number 23 and let's him know that he's a nobody, contrary to what he believes. He just did that to get attention and get the headlines. Every time he fades out of everyones daily conversations, he has to pull some kind of childish stunt. I believe that he needs to grow up and be a man instead of some 7 year old bit*h, who has to throw tantrums when she doesn't get her way. What a low life he has always been.

Hey, all you Laker fans! Look who is still in first place in the Pacific Division. Now you guys know what it's like to play a difficult opponent on the 2nd game of a back to back and have tired legs. The Suns at least broke 100 points when they were blown out. I promise you, the Suns are not the run and gun Suns of D'antoni. This team will challenge your team, Laker fan. I don't just mean during the regular season, I mean seriously challenge you in the Western Conference Championship. I know you say you don't worry about the Suns because they are soft and they just play offense, but deep down you do. Because different from D'antoni's teams, you know this team can play defense and they have a really good bench and the chemistry on this team is INCREDIBLE. Most importantly, this team has a much better coach, Allen Gentry, whom this team believes in. Just as our football team did last year with coach W, the Suns are going to use all of the negative publicity to propel them into and past the Western Conference Championship with the Lakers and into the Finals against Celtics. A rematch of 1976.

Sure, the Lakers will probably beat the Suns the next time they face each other. Laker fans will get a big fat head, and shoot their mouths off as usual. The schedule once again has the Suns playing the Lakers in LA on the 2nd game of a back to back but don't be surprised if the Suns make the next one a very close game and make you a little bit nervous. You better do your celebrating because the Suns will take the last two games on their court so it will be tied at the end of the season.

same thing happened last year lakers went in at 4am on Denver, I think they only scored 75 points that game. Why don't they just get a good night sleep and leave the next day, am I missing something?

"He can't get the logo, and if he can't, something has to be done. I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. I'm starting a petition and I've got to get everyone in the NBA to sign it. Now, if I'm not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it." - Lebron on the jersey no. 23....

    huh!!!!

Lakers the best. Cavs?hm...lets see. Alot of competition this season. Lakers can be the top with again probably Denver or Portland second. To those people who dont like Denver...cmon give me a good team other than the Lakers that can top the on the west! ROckets dont have a chance mid season its too much competition....thats juz my opinion...been a Lakers fan ever since but if things wouldnt go their way its not bad...depends what team gets on top...just not Cavs lol. That team is a joke.

Ok, what is this whole debate about Rondo vs Paul? Theres is no way Rondo is better than Paul. Rondo is not a bad player but he cant shoot the ball to save his life. Chris Paul is a Joy to watch! Boston is not beaten the magic this year
