Germany's Nowitzki shines as Mavs breeze past Raptors
DALLAS, Texas (AFP) - Germany's Dirk Nowitzki(notes) scored a game-high 29 points as the Dallas Mavericks romped past Toronto 129-101 in a National Basketball Association game.
Nowitzki added nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Jason Terry(notes) and Shawn Marion(notes) scored 19 and 18 points for Dallas, who have won four of their past five games.
Josh Howard(notes) added 16 points, and James Singleton(notes) came off the bench to score 10 points for Dallas at the American Airlines Center arena.
Chris Bosh(notes) led Toronto with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Andrea Bargnani(notes) scored 22 points, while Jose Calderon(notes) had 13 and seven assists in the loss.
Dallas broke the game open by scoring 10 unanswered points early in the third quarter to take a 70-52 lead.
