Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Great news for hoops fans on the go ...

The NBA has dramatically updated its mobile offerings for the 2009-10 season, including a new application for the iPhone and Android that provides live video streams of games.

The slick looking app, NBA League Pass Mobile, allows fans to watch more than 40 live games each week. It also offers digital video recording technology to pause and rewind 30 seconds of action, access to up to two days of archived games, live stats, push alerts and more.

The cost: $39.99 per season.

Not cheap, but hey, that's the price you pay for ostracizing your loved ones, right?

The new NBA League Mobile Pass is due to appear in the iTunes App Store and Android Market any time now, so with luck, you'll have Chris Paul(notes) and Kevin Garnett(notes) in your back pocket before they tip-off in Boston on Monday.

To get the complete low-down, including more screenshots and news about the NBA's new and improved $9.99 Game Time app, check out NewTeeVee.

The future is now.

(Did that sound dramatic enough?)

Cheers, The Apple Blog.

$39.99? Didn't MLB let you stream games for only 10 bucks, or was that just audio?
P.S. Sorry to lame up the blog with a baseball comment. :(

    @ mo B
I'm pretty sure youre talking about jailbreaking. Anyways, the app itself is 10 dollars which you potentially COULD get free by jailbreaking, but to stream games, you need the subscription which IS 40 dollars and there's no way around paying that. Good try though...

This sounds great. Too bad about blackouts. Unless I am reading the agreement wrong, if I am in Portland, I can't watch any of the Blazer games.
