Ball Don't Lie - NBA

The NBA packaged this as their "Steal of the Night" this morning, but I don't know, man. The whole thing seems like a sneaky way of getting Josh Smith into the highlights. Conspiracy!

Wow! That dunk was absolutely amazing. Nuggets looked like their good usual self. Grind and keep it close for 3 quarters then dominate the 4th after wearing their opponent down. I think the Nuggets will be better than anticipated this season. I see them as a solid 3 seed, maybe even a 2. If Melo can play like he did through the playoffs, which he showed last night. I know it is only one game, but he is capable of so much. It will be interesting to see how Smith does when he returns from the seven game suspension. Will he be the cocky, trigger happy clow? Or will he be SMITTY!

It was a great play but I wish anybody in the NBA would have made it instead of Carmelo. He is such a self-centered personality. I have hated him ever since he told the world that the coaches voted wrong and he should have been an Allstar a few years ago. Of course he knows better than the NBA coaches! The "I'm back" tirade after the dunk was typical, big-headed Carmelo ego. Yes you are one of the most talented players in the world--could you pretend to try to attempt just a bit of humility. Thug. The Jazz are the NBA "Anti-Carmelo" (along with the Spurs a few others). Solid basketball from less talented players without the endless kindergarten "look at me" antics. I'll take that any day.

@Ron M- No way. Lebron by himself for Amare and Deron Williams makes more sense. But, that's only if you are hurting badly in other areas.

Edward D- a guy who is 6'8" getting dunked on by someone who is 7'1", 300lbs is not a highlight. i dont care who either one is, thats a basic play.
Davids- Carmelo is hardly the poster boy for the "look at me" mentality in the NBA. Yes, he felt he should have been on the all-star team, but is he not allowed to have an opinion? would you have rathered mo williams made that play, who whined so much about not getting on the all-star team he got his team to join in the whining, and then MADE it even though he didn't really deserve it?? And when you make the play of the night in the NBA, you're allowed to be pumped up about it, that is what sports is all about.

I like how he uses the jazz as his example. You forget about Boozer and his CLE debacle or his current Jazz debacle.

    David S,
sounding like a Denver hater to me. Watch the NBA dude, there tends to be a lot of flashing for personal satisfaction and 'Melo is hardly the poster boy of selfishness. But he's good and he's not shy about it. Get over it.

Nuggets are good, but they are the most arrogant, disrespectful team in the league (excluding Chauncy and a few others). It disgust me to watch them play. Showing emotion is one thing, but they are just a bunch of punks.
