Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: NBA Hoot/Dime. CotD: "I would pay big money to see this if 'Pearl' Washington was his hype man."
PF: TrueHoop. Henry Abbott responds to Kevin Durant's(notes) response to Henry Abbott. That make sense?
SF: Empty The Bench. Speaking of KD, here's five reasons Greg Oden(notes) could be an All-Star in 2009-10.
SG: NBA FanHouse. Don't look now, but Ben Wallace(notes) is turning heads in Detroit.
PG: The Growl. Introducing the Memphis Grizzlies' "Controversy Chart."
6th: SRI. Kobe says glue guy acquistions like Anthony Parker(notes) help win championships.
7th: Hoops Addict. It's nice to know Reggie Evans(notes) considers the media "regular peoples."
8th: Detroit Bad Boys. It's that time of year again: Kevin Sawyer's NBA All Overrated Team.
9th: Kevin Dig, OCRegister. Will Andrew Bynum(notes) or Lamar Odom(notes) grumble over Laker minutes?
10th: The Baseline. Shoals: "We all know that [Andre] Miller will end up starting, or taking most of the minutes, for Portland at PG, and he will make them a better team. But will he be happy?"

I really am not a big fan of Henry Abbott, and these advanced stats are getting a little annoying too. Using stats to suggest the Thunder would be better off without Durant on the team is just plain crazy. If the Thunder dont want him Im sure theres 29 other teams willing to make a deal.

Oh man, love that all-overrated team! Right on point. I need to check out that blog more often.
Oden certainly can be an all-star this year. The fouls, though, the minutes are key.
    Great 10-Man Rotation today.

Oden will be an All-Star then get DPOY and steal the MVP by 8 votes after the blazers win the championship and beat the bulls 72 game record.
Then Oden will wake up and remember he is only a caveman.

It's not that the Raptors would be better without Durant, it's that the Raptors would be better with a smarter Durant who didn't ball-hog and maybe once in a blue moon decided to give playing defense a try. He's talented, no doubt. But it would be better for the team if, after drawing the double-triple teams, he passed the effing ball instead of taking a 36% 17 footer with three guys around him. I agree with this Abbott dude.

Kobe overrated? this man is a prophet!! They associating Jordans success with him cuz of the way they both dunk and fadeaway. Gasol brought them to the promise land after him n odom blew a 3-1 lead against the Suns and then lost AGAIN to the Suns even worse 4-1. im not knocking Kobe too much because hes a scorer. That we all know but Odom and Butler couldnt get him to the playoffs but Miami made it to 2nd round the year b4. Shaq was the one opponents couldnt guard and struck fear in any decent big man who would pick up 2 quick ones. Kobe was like the bug u wish wud go away when u were tryna stop Shaq. im sorry but besides the 81 point game (and the 40 pt streaks, and tying the 3 pt record) nothing Kobe has done has impressed me more than what KG did in Minnesota (Consecutive playoffs for like 6 seasons while playing next to starters who would struggle to get bench minutes on Lakers team.)

Bynum and Odom aren't going to fight for minutes. That's crazy talk. Bynum is going to step off of an escalator funny, and tweek his ankle. He'll be out for 60 games or until the Laker front office sees pictures of him carrying more playboy bunnies when he's supposedly "injured" and they force him to suit up. If Bynum somehow manages to get off of all mall escalators without having a season-ending injury, it still won't cause friction because Lamar Odom doesn't care about minutes. He asked to be put on the bench at one point. Less minutes played means more skittles and jawbreakers for Odom. These two aren't going to fight for minutes. They might, however, fight for more rest and bench time.
