Bobby Labonte: Surprise Top 10 at Talladega

Update: In one of NASCAR’s biggest “wild card” races, 2000 Sprint Cup Champion Labonte piloted the No. 71 TRG Motorsports Chevrolet to the team’s first Top-10 finish of 2009 in the AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, trgmotorsports.com reports.

Recommendation: Labonte was able to pilot this small team as high as second during the 500-mile event at Talladega. He kept the No. 71 Chevrolet in and around the Top 15 for much of the race. When the late caution flags waved, Labonte kept the car out of trouble and collected TRG Motorsports best finish of the season.
