Keselowski replacing Stremme for rest of season

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (AP)—Brad Keselowski will start his new job at Penske Racing a little early.

Keselowski will drive the No. 12 Dodge for the final three NASCAR Sprint Cup races of the season, replacing David Stremme.

Keselowski, who won the Cup race at Talladega in April, signed a deal in September to take over the No. 12 in 2010. Team owner Roger Penske opted to bring Keselowski in ahead of schedule so the driver can get jump start on next season.

The 25-year-old Keselowski is currently ranked third in the Nationwide Series points race while driving for JR Motorsports. He’ll drive the No. 22 Dodge for Penske in the Nationwide Series next year.

Stremme was 31st in points through 33 races this season.

Penske announced the change on Monday.

@ D - That is another definition of "sanction" that still can not apply here.

an economic or military coercive measure adopted usually by several nations in concert for forcing a nation violating international law to desist or yield to adjudication

You do not "sanction" race car drivers...you penalize them. As far as the name calling, I do appreciate your lack of it, but I stand by my use of it, in his case. His post was moronic all the way to his stupid name.

OK, mean1, then how do you explain governing bodies (and governments, for that matter!) imposing sanctions on parties they feel deserve them? Please note my lack of challenge of your own intellect. I also feel no need to call yo names.

To # 31. I know waht you are saying. but my point is it violates jr motorsports contract with chevy to have their ( JRM) driver race in any of nascars series in anything but a chevy. Thats why brad could not move up to cup and race dodge with penske and race chevys with JRM next season. He had voiced a desire to run both series next year and stay with JRM for Nationwide

@ BUCK (post 127) - Ummm, Buck? Guess what? You can't fake an education. Please quit trying to sound like anything other than a moron because you can't. You do not "sanction" someone for wrecking another driver. The definition of "sanction" is "to approve" so your post makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever. Then you say you are "graduate educated," whatever that means. Please, you can't fake an education. Tool.

To # 9 Ralph it was a Chevy because Brad was driving it. James Fintch bought the car from Hendrick just so Brad didn't get in trouble with Chevy for driving a Dodge but he uses Dodges when he has a choice. It is the number and owner that count not what make of car. Sadler was in a Ford for Dega trying out what the team is switching to next year. The only time it matters is when the team gets $ from the manufacturer. Aside from that as Greg Biffle said on Speed, Brad will learn that he can't play around like that in the big leagues.

I suppose the sooner he gets used to having his "get out of my way, old man" azz wrecked out of the race early every week, the better. This idiot needs a serious attitude adjustment. So far, he has responded to every break he has been given with arrogance and expectation. Maybe he should just change his name to (ga-hilk ga-hilk) Jethro.

Kyle and Kesel(howeveryouspellhislastname) are pretty much the same. just that Kyle wrecked Jr and therefore is cheered and booed (@ the same time) louder than Jeff Gordon ever wished he were booed @ Talladega. Brad just has to wreck Kyle or Jr to get that much attention. which he eventually will...

when is NASCAR going to sanction this stupid a$$? he caused Mark Martin's wreck, and has a history of aggressive driving. He isn't a Dale Sr, who by the way is dead so get over it. Dale Sr got away with crap that no one else could. NASCAR has turned too commercial and boring......

Christine, Carl does the same thing. He wrecks someone and then apologizes or it wasn't his fault. Doesn't mean he won't wreck someone next week, just that he apologized for it. There aren't many drivers who don't blame someone else. From their perspective, it probably is. Remember that most of the comments are before they have had a chance to see a replay of what happened. Don't forget when Carl wound up to punch Matt Kenseth. I lost any respect I had for Carl when he did that.

I use to be a fan of brad K. But the more i watched him during the sprint and nationwide races, the less i like him. I hate to say the only reason in the beginning I like him, was cause he drove for jr. I am rooting for Carl edwards to win now in the nationwide series. Their is a driver i can respect. When he makes a mistake he says does. Such a friendly guy.

Keep all the safety rules and regulations that we seem to have working, but, the car and engine building back in the hands of the owners, drivers, factory rep and the shop people. Safer cars & tracks are GREAT..........kudos for that, but, the racing really sucks. Most of the announcers won't say so, because they are afraid of their jobs and the rest of the rank & file are afraid of fines and suspensions. NASCAR will continue to decline until they loosen their dictatorship reins and let 'em race. I wish Dale Sr. was still around and some of the old racers.

They fixed it,he got back in the top 10 (Lucky Dog) then recked again. Both brothers have run off 2 of the best crew chiefs in Nascar.BUT IT'S NOT MY FAULT?
