From the Marbles - NASCAR

We're going to have to come up with a good nickname for Denny Hamlin, the Richmond product who's having all kinds of success in his home state. Virginia Viking? Eh, okay. Virginia Slim? Not bad, but naming a guy for a women's cigarette is kind of strange. The Virginia Lover? That's just weird. ODOG (Old Dominion Original Gangsta)? Hey, that's not bad, even if it requires some explanation. What do you think? Post your thoughts below.

Oh, and Hamlin won a race on Sunday. Here are the details.

Congrats to Hamlin, and it's a shame that he had a rough Chase earlier. He's just racing for pride at this point. And hey, look at that -- we made it all the way to the end of a race post without mentioning Jimmie Johnson. (Aw, hell.)

Congrats to Denny on the win, although its too little, too late, he gave it a nice try.

Jimmie Johnson would have to have a DNF in a race and finish outside the top 15 in a race in the last 4 races to
    lose the championship.

Glad to see someone other than the 48 win. Hampster works for me. Congrats to Denny and the 11 team.

Did they really throw a debris caution for a wad of tape falling off the 44 car?? I walked away from the TV following that replay, so it's possible that ESPN revealed a legitimate reason for the caution.

Once a Hamster, always a Hamster. TONIGHT WE DINE ON LETTUCE!! Congrats to Denny, I still think your a punk tho.
It was a great weekend of racing with another first time winner in the Truck series, Harvick RACING his way back from two laps down, Bradski making the Nationwide race "exciting" as he put it, and Carl vowing to make the last three races just as "exciting". All in all some of the best racing so far. NASCAR does have to stop with the cautions for blowing paper on the track as that is severally hurting their credibility. That caution changed the whole outcome of the race in Memphis taking away the chance for a win from guys that had earned it. Granted there would have been cautions anyway but don't add to the mix by trying to engineer an exciting finish.

I thought he was officially dubbed Hamster around these parts some time ago. He did a good job winning on this short track.

Yeah, he's the Hamster, but I was looking for a cowboy-type location nickname. The Henrico Hamster.

Hamlin's cute commercials were fine he progressed well as a driver. A pretty good one, but now he acts like he is Mr Nascar He cuts down every driver that gets close to him. [profane]ed out Brad for wreccking him. and when he makes his stupid move across Montoya. He thinks because he said I'm sorry it's ok to be dumb and expect double standards because he is Hamster Boy. Now he is whining worse than Kyle ever did. I am glad to see Kyle doing better with the media. Hamster Boy when you win 3 0r 4 championships then you can be Hamster Man. Quit acting like you aren't even potty trained and race. THE DAWG

MarkN-- Yeah Brad might have been a "little" aggressive but isn't that what everyone has been screaming about? How NASCAR isn't like the good ol' days? Everyone keeps waiting for Jr. to "be his dad" which we all know he has no desire to be. Well, I think Brad has that same (rhymes with blockiness but Yahoo will sensor me) that Sr had without being an ass like Kyle is. Can't wait to see him in Cup next year. Hope the #12 isn't a lame duck under the Dodge nameplate.
