Tony Stewart will be running in the Nationwide race this weekend for JR Motorsports. Junior also asked him to run in the 88 on Saturday, but Tony still hasn't figured out how to do that and drive his own car too. [NASCAR.com via Yahoo! Sports]

MP, Tony always looks good to me! If I remember right, and at my advanced age I don't always remember right, Tony has driven for Jr before in Nationwide.
Yep, KG is getting to be quite the blogger. Guess he will be King Blog Monkey one of these days!

Kim - I'm not really familiar with Nationwide. I know Newman has driven for Jr, not sure if Tony has (at least not this year).

With Nationwide running the Mustang next year, I'm soon to become a fan!! That's one sweet looking ride - maybe cause it actually looks like a Mustang. Hey Jay - or anybody... Any rumor as to if Chevy will sport a Camaro, or Dodge - the Charger, to go along with Roush's Stangs?

Boogie, the rumor is that Chevy will NOT be running the Camaro. Think the Impala needs more help at the dealership.

What a load of crap.. Not that, with all the rules and limitations, it really makes any difference, but still.. In the real world, just how well would an Impala do vs. the Mustang? Figures..

Boogie, in the county where I live, nearly all the undercover cops, investigators, probation officers, etc. are given Impalas. They say they haul a$$. Don't know if they are stock or if they are a "law enforcement" upgrade. Our local police department uses Chargers and the K9 unit is a Magnum. Personally, I refer to the Charger as a brick on wheels. The cops here love them and get in chases that other areas have called off just to show what they can do. Which is apparently very good...until they try to take them off road. Guess the old Crown Vics can handle the dirt better than the Chargers do!

The helmets were cool, but I got a chuckle out of the pit signs. First thing that popped into my head with Bowyer's Hamburger Helper Hand was that it needed to be flipping the other drivers off (I know sponsor's wouldn't go for it but it was the first thing that popped into MY head) hahaha

Your law enforcement cars def have a law enforcement package to go with them. Better rear end gears, beefier suspension, subframe connectors, stuff-like-that-there. Nothing you couldn't set up in your own car (at considerable expense!) with the possible exception of the gun brackets.
See Boogie, that's exactly why they have to run the Impalas. Because that's the kind of impression people have of them! Camaros are already sexy, no problem selling those.

I get it that Jr would want Stewart in his Nationwide ride, but what's this about Jr asking him to run the 88, when Stewart's in the chase? Why would he even ask knowing that? Look, I get that Jr's in a kind of panic mode over this whole season and he's had it. If he wants to quit, that's his business, but you don't put one of your best friends in a compromising position over things not going right for you, that's just wrong...
Maybe this meltdown, will give him the "Nothing to lose" edge he needs to make a small but noticeable recovery before the year's out. I am a Jr fan, but this is just upside down and it would be wrong for Stewart to even consider driving the cup ride instead of his own, when he's had such a remarkable first season. Just plain bad joojoo!
As for everything "Cup" going sideways for Jr, he needs to realize he's trying way too hard, and he should get some guru to help him get some Chi back. The kid's head must be ready to explode from not being able to connect out there. Geez, if I thought that Hedricks would actually read any email from lil ol me, I would love to give him some thoughts. Of Course, the answer to that is there's probably thousands in line ahead of me asking him "WTF"? If Jr stands down, like it sounds he's going to, he's gonna regret the hell out of it. Pressure or no pressure, he needs to be active in at least some capacity. You commit to a lot of aspects of the season and I think to just up and quit will create a black eye he may never recover from regardless of wins or not.
It may sound cold but "Jr. I know you've been slower than Mikey lately, but go find a field and scream or something, but don't walk away!"
Then again perhaps that's just what he should do to stop the idolization so he can reset to zero and comeback fighting. I guess I'm just ranting and really have no clue as to what he needs to do. Like it or not, even if he did walk away for the rest of the season, Jr. Nation would likely forgive him and be sympathetic...
Has this ever happened to another series driver where they survived and made a successful comeback (besides MM)?

Atleast Ford is trying to break the robot mold and get back to tradition maybe if this works out for Ford, Chevy will smarten up abit and follow Fords suit.
