Teddy Bears, of course! Fedor Emelianenko stopped by Soldier Field in Chicago to see the Bears beat the Cleveland Browns, 30-6. He is on the right with Staley the Bear. There is no truth to the rumor that the Bears asked Fedor to try out for the offensive line, but with the Browns sacking Jay Cutler four times, he couldn't have made it any worse.

Thanks to Esther Lin for the photo.

    Kill zuffa, that's all.
Hey Maggie, would you be willing to write a story on what zuffa is doing to Mikey Burnett? If not, could you explain why.

I saw the title of the story and was expecting to get a story about Lesnar's return from his sickness. Instead I get garbage about a coward who is afraid to fight the best. Teddy bears, really? Photo op for a chickensh!t. Let the monolith that is strikeforce promotion go! Weak

This is in response to "I'm a Pilot...I can Fly" and anyone else who thinks that Fedor is a coward and is ducking the "best" in MMA. First, Fedor has beaten the best heavyweights MMA has had to offer over the last 8 years. List of Fedor victims over that time span: Coleman (when he was younger and still good), Randleman (when he was younger and still good), Nog (twice), Cro Cop (when he was young and still good), Goodrich, to name a few. The only reason he didn't want to sign with UFC both times was due to Dana not wanting Zuffa to co-promote with M1-Global (which Fedor is part owner). M1-Global promotes all over Asia, Europe, and South America. UFC promotes only in the states and England. Also, Fedor still competes in Russian Sambo competitions across the world. Dana and UFC do not allow their "fighters" to compete in anything that is not UFC sponsored.
Dana always talks about UFC wanting to go global, but he refuses to co-promote with any other sanctioning body to do so. This is very similar to what happens in boxing when a unification bout between two champions cannot take place because the sanctioning bodies refuse to negociate with one another (i.e. WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO). To imply that any fighter , especially someone as accomplished as Fedor, is "afriad" to compete is a disrespect to all fighters and a shows a lack of knowledge someone has of what it takes to become a professional in any profession.

Actually the Bears DID ask for him to play on the ofensive line. The sticking point was an M-1 co-promotion.

Actually, Fedor looks like he's grimacing after being told he looks like a tall Mat Serra.

Fedor is chomping at the bit to arm-bar the bear after the picture is taken. He is bigger than the bear.

Actually, the this is not true. In their last round of talks, the UFC said that Fedor could participate in any Sambo cometitions in desired. It seems a if the co-promote with M1-Global is the real sticking point.

It is good to see Staley not giving the clenched fist look when taking the picture with Fedor.
And Joe, if you are going to talk football, it was Kyle Orton that the fans wanted. You know the one that is 6-1 in Denver. Grossman is another draft day error long forgotten by Bears fans.

Fedor is the best fighter in the world. I had the pleasure of watching him train in Russia last year. Believe me when I tell you that he is an awesome individual. I workout 6 days a week, am a black belt in Jui Jitsu and run 3 marathons a year. I wish my conditioning was half of what Fedor's is!!! Too bad Dana is greedy and won't let him fight Brock. On another note, Shogun Rua won the fight outright!!

I think most people that have no respect for Fedor as the Number one fighter have not seen him fight much. Or are just UFC loyalists that think he crapped on them.
I will be impressed with Brett Rogers if he makes it to round 2. And no offense to Brett...just lots of respect for Fedor.

Why does the headline mention the worlds best heavyweight? They must be writing about the guy in the bear suit!!

Dude Fedor is the best period. If you talk to all the top fighters they all respect him and will even tell you he is the best. The only people that likes to talk [profane] is the haters and also fighters that are over rated for example Mir. The only person that has a chance to beat Fedor is Silva and even tho I say this Fedor will probably come out on top.

Hey nut M. jordan couldn't make it in baseball.
And tyson wasn't gonna go pro in hockey.
Lesnar was only cut because of his age.
People are good at what they are good at.
Just cause some guy is good at one sport instead
Of another does not take away from their athletic
Ability. Look what happens to pure boxers that
Go into mixed style contests. They get fukked up.
Does that take away from their boxing ability?
