If Rogers doesn't get the KO in the first 45 sec, Fedor will submit him before the end of the first round.

Fedor is overrated not because he loses to nobodies... he's overrated because he continues to win over nobodies. He considers himself #1 in the world yet he fighting the 1-dimensional Heavyweight version of Houston Alexander as if Rogers really stands a chance. It's been years since Fedor has fought a top 10 opponent in their prime.
When Fedor destroys Rogers, it will prove nothing of Fedor's "best in the world" status. To be the best, you have to beat the best. I'm not talking about beating the best of yesteryears come and gone (all that proves is that he once was #1). I'm talking about beating the best of today. And no one considers Rogers the best Heavyweight, just a one-hit wonder.
    This fight is pointless.

Rogers definitely has a "punchers chance" in this fight, but that is about it. I'm not a fan of either guy and either man has ko power in their hands, it's just a matter of who lands it first. If Rogers can land a big punch clean on Fedor, he will for sure lose his marbles for a second, if not get ko'd. I do believe that Fedor is in Rogers head though and that's bad for him, but all the pressure is definitely on Fedor. Because if Rogers gets smashed, everybody will say "oh yeah, i knew that was gonna happen anyways", but if Rogers beats Fedor impressively, people will be like "oh yeah, i knew Fedor was overrated, blah blah blah..." Either way, should be exciting and i highly doubt that it goes past the first round and if it does, Rogers is toast. Hoping for a Rogers upset however, just to see the shakeup and how all the Fedor nuthuggers will respond and what the excuses will be if he does in fact lose.

I think Fedor will get Rodgers down in the 2nd round and make him submit.

Shane Carwin 10-0 next in line for UFC title. Brett Rogers 10-0 next in line for Fedor's title.
So what's the difference again??? oh yeah, ufc nuthuggers think that you are only "real" if you're in the ufc......what a joke

If Fedor makes it past Rogers like he is suppose to; who is next? Overeem seems to be avoiding any fight in the States, so is there any legit challengers outside of UFC?

If Rogers does get the upset, I hope that it is in an unquestionable fashion. I don’t want to have to read the thousands of posts about a bad call/stoppage/decision. Or hear about a Dana/UFC conspiracy to sabotage Fedor/Strikeforce.

Hunter - fedor fought Arlovski who was in the top 5 heavyweight rankings of pretty much all major mma publications. Arlovski was also on a 5 fight winning streak against good fighters and his skills were the best they had ever been (besides not protecting his weak chin well). He was not out of his prime, and the arguments that try to spin it are incredibly weak. And that fight was last january. And Bret is considered by most to be in the top 10. If hes a one dimensional striker, than Velazques, who everyone is raving about, should also be considered as a one-dimensional wrestler.
On another point, is Rogers actually 6' 5? When standing next to Fedor, who is barely 6' 1, he doesn't look like it.

Shane W - Yes ther eis. The winner of Overeem-Silva tonight will prob be the next in line to fight Fedor. And either one of those two are legit opponents.

If Strikeforce is going to use the winner of Werdum-Silva to decide Fedors' next opponent, I hope they have a good showing. If Strikeforce can pull off 2 strong viewings on CBS it won't be long before another network (ie. ABC/NBC/FOX) signs a deal with the UFC. That would mean more free MMA and that is a good thing.

Matt M - Yes, I agree that Velazques is one dimensional and overrated as well.
Speaking of wrestlers, I would LOVE to see Fedor fight a world-class wrestler. I think his handlers are worried that style would give their meal ticket problems.
Fedor will destroy Rogers like he would C. Kongo and we all know it.
I prefer fights where the outcome isn't a forgone conclusion.

werdum or silva a legitimate threat to Fedor....haha, what F'n planet do you live on?? Werdum vs Silva wouldn't even make the televised portion of a UFC ppv and couldn't even co headline a Fight Nite event, and neither would stand even a punchers chance against Fedor...only reason this fight even makes tv tonite is bcus SF has such limited star potential so they throw on a weak fight just bcus some ppl out there know Werdums name from UFC, and very few ppl know that much about Silva....he probably isn't even in the top 15 heavyweights in the world...once Rogers goes down then Fedor might as well retire and take the belt with him cus SF has no one else to offer him, and if they plan on feeding him the "winner" of Werdum and Silva it will be a financial nightmare as Fedor has limited drawing power bcus a. he isn't in UFC, 2. he is largely unknown to ppl other than the "hardcores", 3. he doesn't harldy speak a lick of English and as we all know that doesn't generally appeal to an English speaking nation who pays to watch these fighters live, on PPV, ect, and tossing him an opponent like Werdum or Silva will equal [profane] for ppv or even free tv.....SF definetely has there work cut out for them after 2nite even if this show is a financial success

Hunter - Fedor fought Coleman and Randelam, who are world class wrestler. Coleman gave him some problems, but Fedor beat him pretty easily. Brock and Carwin will give Fedor a lot of problems. Not so much because they are better wrestlers than Coleman, but that they have a huge size advantage coupled with a talented wrestling base.

If Strikeforce wanted to put a match together that would ensure lots of viewers for Fedor, they should put him against Bobby Lashley. Lashley is known to their key demographic and has a solid wrestling background to maybe push the action on the ground. At least until he got caught in a sub. It would be Lesner/Mir I all over again. But I doubt Lashley could hit Fedor like that.
