Less "Rampage" and more fights! We've been waiting for this. Now that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson went 1-7 in the opening round of "The Ultimate Fighter" we can turn our attention away from the constant bickering between the two coaches. The quarterfinals were announced at the end of tonight's episode:

Roy Nelson v. Justin Wren

Brendan Schaub v. Jon Madsen

James McSweeney v. Matt Mitrione

Marcus Jones v. Darrill "Titties" Schoonover

Not so fast my friends, there could be more Kimbo Slice drama on the way. The postfight tease shows Matt Mitrione still suffering after his battle against Scott Junk. Power voice guy Mike Rowe says Mitrione was taken to the hospital. It could be Kimbo time! Will the streetfighting legend get a second chance?

If so, what a bummer for Mitrione. His fight against McSweeney could've been a helluva war. Kimbo may get to face the kickboxer who has over 120 professional fights.

Honestly, as much as Kimbo is shown to be a likable guy, enough of his coverage and commercial teases.
Either people will watch the show to see who wins it, or they have had enough of under trained, out of shape, sloths gassing in 5 minutes.
The HW division in the UFC is sad at best and this is only making it worse.
And honestly, 2 of Team Rampage's losses could have gone the other way.
Piss poor scoring by piss poor judges. Plain and simple.
Who really cares if Kimbo wins or fights again on TUF? His future is set with the UFC for now.
Can we please move along with the others in the semis?
    Thank you.

And as for the match ups, Matt vs James? Sleeper fest by minute 3 of the 1st round as both fighters will gas quickly and slouch in the middle of the ring throwing sissy punches until one man collapses.
Roy vs Justin should be interesting in the stand up, but if it gets to the ground, and it probably will, who is going to lay on who 1st? That'll be the winner.
Brendan vs. Jon will be a great match up, but Brendan is more rounded than Jon. He is a one dimensional wrestler and Brendan has the skills to submit him.
And Darrill vs. Marcus shouldn't even be close. Marcus will simply do what he did this evening and it's over.
I want to see Brendan vs Marcus. in the final, that will justify this season and take some of the stench off of it.

Kimbo is fighting Houston Alexander at the TUF finale. So even if he does fight he will lose. i doubt he will even fight because if he does indeed fight one more time they are gonna promote the [profane] out of it for the ratings and not just hint at it.

Everybody and they mama should already know that Dana is gonna have Kimbo fight in the ufc again regardless of what happens. I just love the fact that it makes Diana White look like an ass for talking so much $h!t on Slice prior to this show.........oh and ufc nuthuggers: don't even try to use the ol' "well he said that Kimbo has to go through TUF and that's what he did" well actually y'all should switch "go through" to just SHOW UP, 'cause that's all he's done on TUF......he didn't win shiet.
I don't care either way, b/c I actually like Kimbo, even more so now that I've seen how cool of a real person he is. But at the same time Dana is a joke for completely contradicting himself with his Kimbo trash talking

Nice. Now Yahoo is getting on the UFC hype wagon and spewing the "will Kimbo get another chance to bang" verbal beer [profane]s.
Cofield, who did you blow to get this gig? Seriously, I'd like to know. You're a hack writer with absolutely zero talent.

When do I get to BANG again?
McSweeney-Mitrione is the dud of the quarters. I actually hope Kimbo does get back in. He'd actually force McSweeney to work or get KOd. It also opens up a higher probability of Head Kick KO by McSweeney.
The other three could be good...especially Schaub/Madsen.
I actually like Schoonover v Jones. I think that could be a solid fight. Schoonover's hands are much better than Wessel's, and he appeared to have some ground game.

Houston finally has someone that will stand in front of him and willingly get KTFO. 30 seconds max, before Kimbo gets dropped.

Why would Kimbo replace Mittrone? Wouldnt that other matthew (the one who lost to marcus) replace his fellow team rashad member.

    Trey:
Based on talent and potential? Yes. Him or Sims.
Based on results? Dunno. Kimbo at least fought pretty well on the feet and made it to the second round.
Based on ratings? I think we all know that answer.
By the way, Cofield...Lee Corso's going to sue you.

I would actually be surprised if Kimbo did fight again on TUF. The previews for next week's show made it pretty obvious that he WOULDN'tT be fighting as a replacement...unless you're like 8 or 9 years old and watch this stuff...or if you believe the WWE is real. I'd have to agree with treythewop that Demico deserves a second chance instead of Kimbo if replacements are needed.

Is it possible that Kimbo does come back and makes it to the final? That all this talk about him fighting Houston is just a smoke screen? I suppose it is possible, but highly unlikely. If this did happen though, I would have to appluad everyone involved for keeping their mouths shut.
But I think what happens is that Matt is just dehydrated, gets an I.V., goes back to the house and then fights. Just another teaser for Kimbo fans.
    We shall see.

Oh and Jay, you might want to try complaining via the "give feedback" area at the bottom of the page. I really don't think it does any good to complain about it (unless I'm in a ticked off mood) on these blogs. Maggie reads and responds to comments. Cofield says he doesn't read the comments. I don't think it would hurt anyone to complain about the lack of coverage for other organizations/events. It's been pretty one sided towards the UFC lately. I just wish they would stop saying they are covering Strikeforce. I guess to find out about other organizations, you'll need to try different websites. Maggie said she's working on stuff for SF.

FYI...Brock supposedly isn't going to fight at UFC 108 due to mono. That would leave a rumored main event of Cain vs Nog. Not bad but not a blockbuster card....maybe would have been if Silva vs Belfor and Brock vs Carwin would have been the main events. .

Does it bother anyone that Wes Sims talks smack, riles up fighters - who are in training to fight and acts like a 12 year old - considering HE GOT PUT TO SLEEP LIKE A NOVICE!!!!
Maybe its just me - but the frat boy "jokester" should be reminded he got put to sleep the moment he opens his mouth.
Then I would tell him to go get his shine box...

Allen, you're right about Kimbo. Enough with him. Why does he deserve a chance to fight again compared to all the other fighters who lost? Personally, I'd like to see Demico or Big Wes (the country boy, not the loud mouth) fight again. I'd hope Wes' cardio has improved over the previous weeks. Improve his cardio and Wes could be dangerous to any fighter left on the show including Big Country (who I'll bet fights in the finale).
I have to disagree that the UFC heavyweight division is weak. It is deeper than any other MMA organization. Strikeforce has Fedor and...? UFC has Lesnar, Carwin, Nog, Cain, Couture (if he wants it), Barry, Dos Santos, Duffee, Gonzaga, Mir, Struve, etc. Are the HWs on TUF weak? Yes, I'll agree with that. If this season had started like the last season Rampage coached, where the fighters had to fight their way onto the show, I think 1/2 of these guys would not be in the house this season.
Oh, and Wes Sims needs to realize that it makes no sense to talk smack especially after such a completely one-sided loss. It seems like he's just desperate for attention and has been throughout the show. He tries to use his attempt at wit to cover up that he is a mediocre fighter at best.

Is someone making you read this? Why are you whining about it. There are some Strikeforce articles so go read and comment on them. All UFC haters are idiots
