What in the hell is happening? Dana White said he wasn't speaking with Quinton Jackson over his decision to take a break from fighting to play B.A. Baracus in the new A-Team movie. White took little shot at Rampage before and after the fight. It looks like Jackson, 31, was listening and now says he's quitting the UFC. Jackson posted this message:

The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them. The UFC bought WFA to get my contract & they saved my life, so I felt loyal to them. They pushed me into a fight with Chuck Liddel even when I clearly stated I wasn't ready to fight for the belt because the American fans didn't know me but I took the fight and didn't complain & after I won the American fans booed me for the first time which changed the way I saw them & it hurt me deeply.

Then before I can even get out of the cage they announced that I was fighting Dan Henderson without even asking me. After I beat Dan Henderson, I made history in becoming the first undisputed champion in MMA but was never even given the pride belt in the cage & I was never promoted as the undisputed champ. Later Anderson Silva was.

Then they had me coach TUF season 7 and fight Forrest and the fight was very controversial & normally when a fight is that close & controversial there is normally an instant replay. I can name a couple of instances. Instead they offered me the Vanderlei Silva fight which I gladly accepted even though I know it was a very risky fight for me to take because of all the drama that was happening to me at the time. I fought that fight with a jaw injury and then a couple weeks later Dana called me and asked me to fight Rashad. For the first time I said no, I didn't want to fight because it was such short notice & I wouldn't have had a long break between camp. Dana talked me into fighting Rashad anyway but Rashad refused the fight and so I had to fight Jardine as a favor to the UFC instead of getting my belt back (which wasn't even worth it to me financially).

Then I reinjured my jaw in the fight with Vanderlei & Jardine. Frank Mir gets hurt so they wanted to switch my fight from UFC 100 to the fight Frank couldn't make it to but I couldn't fight cause I needed jaw surgury. So they give Machida the fight against Rashad & they told me they want me to coach TUF season 10 against Rashad. That's why I wanted Rashad to win so bad but when Rashad got knocked out I told them I wanted to fight Machida for the belt but Dana told me if I coach TUF against Rashad that I could fight Machida afterwards cause this was a different type of ultimate fighter show they were doing. After I signed the contract Dana then changes his mind & says I have to fight Rashad & even told me what to say in the press & so my fans think I was scared to fight Machida. After all that I still never complained & I did it all.

Then this movie role came about that I have been trying to get for over a year & as soon as I found out I was close to getting it, I called Dana right away & asked to push the Memphis fight back just a month or so. I told him what this movie role meant to me. I told him that I used to bond with my father watching the tv show as a kid when my parents where still married & it represents the memories I had with my father when we lived together. My dad became an alcohalic & addicted to drugs & we grew apart. But after my dad got his life back together, I was so proud of my dad & I told him I would always take care of him in the future & make him proud of me. My dad & I are still very big fans of the show & I am basically doing this for the childhood memories I had spending time in front of the tv with my dad. Dana went on the internet & mocked me because of that & I still did nothing. Dana & I finally talked & we made up & then after that he went back on the internet & said some [expletive] & he was talking bad about the movie when information is not even supposed to be released & talking about payments which is not even true could really hurt my future acting career, which could very well last longer than my fighting career. I'm not like Randy Couture. My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I'm done fighting. I've been getting negative reviews from the dumb ass fans that don't pay my bills or put my kids though college. So I'm hanging it up. I'm gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they'll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way. & all you hater fans out there can kiss my big black hairy [expletive]! & anybody that don't like what I just said can come try to kick my [expletive]!

I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt like I was very loyal to them but they didn't respect my loyalty but I wish the UFC the best. I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us but I have kids & a family back in Memphis to provide for & thats all that matters to me!

I hate to say this is much ado about nothing, but I'll bet you it is. Jackson is throwing a hissy fit. Let's see if the new, more docile White handles this correctly or if he goes ballistic. I sounds like a sitdown is needed. As we speak, Rampage is done with the UFC.

Rampage saw Forrest get put down like a little kid, and Forrest beat him... he is scared and has been avoiding fighting... I hope the movies works out well for him... he is a funny man, and could possibly convert over. Good luck, but we all know the truth... it's Ok... Starns was scared to fight too.

    hahahahahahaha well played sir.
I don't buy it though. I'm sure he's just griping and complaining in that Jackson way.
The Fertitas wont let him go out that easy! White may, but the brothers wont
they'll cater to him and all will be well.

I take back what I said in my prior post... I read the whole article and I see where the man is coming from... I believe that this is the correct way that things happened and that DW is a dousche bag! Good luck Rampage... I am sure you will be back in fighting sometime... maybe to Strikeforce where the true champ has chosen to go... Help strikeforce fight the UFC when you are done with the A Team... DW don't remember the early days of the UFC when he was a geeky little man... that had hair, and talked kind of soft... he wasn't sure of hinself... Now power has gotten to his head and the fighters maybe should rise up. With my first post I wrote in assumption from the headline... I read the whole thing and I see where you are coming from.

Brock, carwin, gonzaga, velasquez would smash fedor and machida, rampage, and even tito would smash gegard so who exactly is this true champ you speak of?

Oh come on, how gullible are you all? Rampage got the A-Team role, and clearly had to go do it. You think Dana wouldn't let a guy who he clearly is good friends with go and star in a freakin' movie? Come on.... Rampage and Dana came up with this "feud" to maintain interest for the inevitable return to fight Evans in a few months. Neither Rampage nor Dana are idiots -- they *both* know how to promote a fight, even under difficult circumstances.

UFC was his spring board into Hollywood.
when his career fails to launch, then what will Rampage do?
It's obvious Rampage would rather jabber jaw instead of throw down anymore.
Maybe he should buy a computer and post on Yahoo MMA blog response sections.
    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Or maybe he should buy a dictionary.
Or better yet, he can get hammered and take a long, leisurely drive through Los Angeles.
    What a tool.
    Good riddance to him.

The only thing new about this Dana is maybe not cussing as much. He still doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut since that's what Rampage's 'Hissy Fit' was triggered by. Dana White is a promoter. Rampage is one of his clients. You do not bad mouth your own client that's still under contract, even if you believe he they shafted you when they went off to do a movie. You keep that opinion behind closed doors, not disclosed publicly at multiple press conferences.
How Dana fails to see the bigger picture in the publicity the A-Team could indirectly bring the UFC is beyond me. If it's a box office hit (it will be), Rampage will have more media coverage then anything the UFC could muster by itself. So it'd be a good idea to be supportive. Because when he comes back to the UFC, and comes back to fight Evans, it'll be a much bigger deal then just coming from this series of TUF. Which means a bigger PPV and live gate.

If this is true then this is pretty low even for Dana White. I'm sure this will all get worked out. If they worked it out with Coture then I'm sure they can work this out.

Post # 16,17,18 said it for sure about the bigger picture; Dana should listen. Rampage is too good of a fighter to lose. Watch he goes and signs with Strikeforce! That would be kindof cool to see him fight Mousasi. Dana White better fix this because Rampage is awesome!!!!!

More and more the UFC is becoming like pro wrestling.
I think Dana White and Vince McMahon must be drinking buddies. The events of the past year have just been too strange to not suspect that it is all a set up.
I don't know what to believe anymore and I have been a diehard fan for 4 years...who never once suspected foul play...until the Forrest/Spider fight.
Go ahead, start bashing me...but just think about all the things that have happened lately and ask yourself if they seem like natural events.

I've really enjoyed watching Rampage over the years and wish that all of my favorite atheletes could stay at the top of their game longer than they ever do. But if he is happy to move on then I wish him the best and I will have to see how he fairs in acting.

Unless this is a publicity stunt, the UFC is shooting themselves in the foot. I consider myself a fan of MMA, and I have got to say the UFC is really going overboard with their arrogance.(Which includes Joe Rogan and his latest fan bashing blogs, not that it wasn't somewhat true and hilarious), but whatever happened to showing a little class. Dana is not Phil Jackson, he doesn't call you out to motivate you, it's to insult and mock his guys. (The same guys that go in there and give their sweat, blood, and sometimes tears, i.e. Forrest Griffin for the UFC.) Dana is lucky that the stereotype about fighters being barbarians isn't true, cuz if it was, you'd see him doing those tired ass, black background promos where he becomes an actor/hype man, with a fat welt under his eye. I am truly surprised that with all the fighter/promoter squabbles, that this guy ain't been at least Sprewelled by somebody. I think people like how blunt Dana is but he needs to tone it down.
The NFL has coach and player, even coach on coach squabbs from time to time, well, at least if u follow the Raiders, which is what the UFC organization kinda reminds me of nowadays. Al Davis and Dana just might be relatives. The power has gotten too much for both these guys and they rule with an iron fist. They are more like dictators than leaders. They both have undeniably passionate fan bases that are extremely loyal, but the mystique and image of these organizations are both stale right now. The least the UFC could do is get some top level producers to revamp the image of the televised ppv's, I'm sick of the music and that Gladiator bull [profane] they always intro with. It suck how Dana says he's about the fans, but apparently that doesn't override his ongiong grudges with high profile fighters. which then puts the fan in jeopardy of not getting the most entertaining fights possible as soon as possible before the fighters are too old that they get whooped by some up and comer. Which I think works out in Dana's favor, and is what will probably happen to Rampage. Dana White is the best in the business at doing what he does, but I think he's got 2 check himself and his over the top attitude, before he turns into Don King. But Rampage Jackson to me, is a top 10 fighter, very high profile, very entertaining. Maybe I'm out of touch with the normal UFC fan, who thinks mma is UFC, but some of the reaction's I here from people about certain fights don't make sense. Rampage has got to be top 10 in having entertaining fights throughout his career, and I think he should've been one of the faces of UFC because of his marketablilty potential. I'm glad that Rampage is standing up to Dana and not tucking his tail between his legs, he is good for the sport. Maybe Dana should take a toke of whatever bomb Rogan smokes so he can chill with all those comments to the press. It's eaten at the UFC's pockets.
