Gegard Mousasi continued to show his dominance, TKO'ing Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou at 3:43 in the second round.

As he is wont to do, Sokoudjou came out guns blazing in the first round, not only landing punches on Mousasi, but also displaying his judo prowess with a few throws to put Mousasi on his back. His dominance was short-lived, though, as his well-known lack of conditioning reared its ugly head.

In the second, it looked like Sokoudjou might be in trouble after Mousasi unloaded a flurry of punches, but Soko survived and took Mousasi down. Mousasi reversed Sokoudjou, and it was quite clear that Soko was exhausted at that point. Mousasi unloaded punches and elbows, and the referee, "Big" John McCarthy called the fight.

For Mousasi, 24, the win didn't test his Strikeforce light heavyweight title, but it did show off his skills as a top fighter. The American audience is now much more familiar with the young veteran's dominance.

What a joke. They had the champ in a non-title fight? Why didn't they just make an exhibition fight?

Sokoudjou is the weirdest fighter I've ever seen. Judo fighter with no ground game...? What does he normally plan to do after a takedown? Every time I've seen him fight (all losses), he's been clueless on the ground.
In all honesty, Gegard didn't look very impressive. Very flat-footed with little lateral movement. He'd get clubbed by a seriously well-rounded fighter IMO.

Sokoudjou needs to go fight in the minor organizations. How can he hope to beat caliber opponents without proper conditioning. Yea he is muscular and strong, but without good cardio, that is only good for a few minutes.

I can't believe someone actually put Sokoudjou in a title fight. Can't they see his horrible performances from the past and tell this guy don't belong in a title fight with fifth graders. That's why all other organizations outside the UFC are minor league at best.

Mousasi looked good, but i think he should work on his TD defense. If Sokodju can take him down then he'll have trouble with good wrestlers if they go for the TD.

I love how inaccurate these posts are... punches and elbows??? Elbows were not thrown because they were not allowed in ground and pound did you watch the fights. All that were thrown to the head were punches, and the fight ended with some big punches to the head, no elbows.

How do you guys think Mousasi would do against Machida? They have both beaten Sokodju evenly so who do you think is the premier LHW right now.

This was the first time I have seen Gayhard fight. He came out looking so cocky....that I wanted him to lose. I guess he backed up the cockiness, but there is just no need for that. He basically had his nose up in the air at Soakajew... Someone will break that nose one of these times.
He may be one of the best fighters out there, but I just don't like him.

For all those douches who were talking $hit about Mousasi beating Anderson, HAHAHA. If Sokodjou had any cardio or ground game, he wins this fight.

Soukajou is really frustrating to watch because he has alot of skill and talent ... but he has NO heart and no ... um . testicular fortitude. Soukajou gave up, like he always does when things go wrong. He gave up. He's not a fighter. He's a joke.

Gegard is very light and springy on his feet, very impressive. I was also impressed by Soko, he finally used that Judo. He just gassed again -- guy is too buff.

Hey Fedor can fight Barry Bonds Overreem next. It will be a very symbolic fight. The flabby, chunky, bald guy who looks like your borderline pedophile crazy uncle .. vs .. Alex Rodriguez looking, Steroid taking . gay porn model look alike , Allistar Overreem. They'll probably have to fight in Japan, since USA doesn't tolerate PEDs in MMA, and Fedor will need some serious recoop time (he took some serious damage tonight), But Dream/ Strikeforce/ M1 global/ CBS/ whatever ... has another good fight to set up.
