Fight Camp 360: Rogers looking to carve up Fedor

Brett Rogers has hit the bigtime. Less than two years ago, the guy was changing tires at Sam's Club. Now he's got cameras following him for a Showtime fight documentary, Fight Camp 360.

"The film crew has been here for more than five days," said Rogers. "I tell you, it is a surreal experience to have the world watching you, watching me do what my fight team and I have been doing for five years in relative obscurity day in and day out. All of a sudden, to have my life become worthy of this attention is amazing, shocking almost.  But we are having fun with it."

His trainer Mike Reilly says Fedor Emelianenko has never seen this Rogers: 

“We have new wrinkles in training, new sparing partners and sessions.  With his striking in top form, I can have Brett focus on other facets of the game: grappling, submission defense, throws and kicks.  We are coming in from new angles, we found a new range.  We have taken conditioning to a new level.  Fedor is in for a shock.” 

Fight Camp 360 debuts next Tuesday on Showtime at 9:30 p.m. ET.

    WOW!!!! Here's ONE blog from Cofield for the SF card. Are you going to go and interview some of the other fighters, Cofield, so we can get to know them a little better?? I know you go along with Dana with the majority of your beliefs about MMA and other promotions. You DID call them Strikefarce in one of your blogs. Why not give SF the coverage you give some of these UFC events??

    Can Rogers hang with Fedor? We know he can hit hard but does he have the skill to stop the takedowns or defend the subs? What happens if Rogers wins? More to the point what happens if he wins a close decision (besides Fedor fans go mad with rage and screaming conspiracy all over the internet)? He's such a question mark, but we'll have some answers before too long...

    I hope this is actually a good fight. With Brock out and the UFC heavyweight title moved to sometime in 2010, and the Ultimate fighter showing how weak some of the new heavyweights are. There needs to be a strong showing by some up an comming fighters. Besides if Brett Rogers can last more than 2:00 minutes with Fedor I think he has a punchers chance, becasue if it goes to the ground I am sorry but it's over. Fedor has the smoothest and most seamless transitions in the Heavywight division.

    Rogers can land a big punch, that's his best opportunity. But if it hits the mat it's over, Fedor could armbar a bear

    Great position if they keep promoting rogers win or lose if he wins they have the guy who beat fedor if he loses and wins after then they got the guy who only lost to fedor

    Legends can always be broken by someone with half the talent. Every dog has his day and i think Brett is about to have his. Its been nice having it your way Fedor but I think the UFC is gonna get what it wants soon. As soon as he starts losing fights his bargaining is going to be out the window.

    I'd hate to put this story to the side, but I think there's a far more pressing issue here: the shirts Brett Rogers and his lovely wife (I'm assuming she's lovely, and his wife) were wearing. Hear me out: is anyone else sick of these graphic t-shirts? It seems like every fighter out there has to, for some reason, sport trashy clothing with shiny text and skulls on it. No one else finds this the least bit detrimental to the sport as a whole? How's anyone supposed to take MMA seriously if the fighters are forced by their sponsors to rock loud and seemingly obnoxious threads that just make them look like a bunch of would-be tough guys from Long Island? I'm not into clothing, trust me, I just don't understand the phenomenon. It makes the fighters look bad, and that makes the sport look like some "tough guy" sport comparable to a monster truck rally. Whatever happened to athletes looking like athletes, instead of idiots?

    UFC should do something like this instead of TUF. i would much rather watch GSP or sa big name fighter's training/life leading up to a fight, how they prepare, and stuff like that

    That was one of the most awkward moments I've ever seen in MMA. Colemn's face was hamburger, he then entroduces his daughter to the man who did it. Another awkward moment was after the fight when Coleman asked Fedor if he could punch him. I'm sure Fedor didn't understand what Coleman was saying and then Coleman punches him in the face. Not hard but still very awkward. You could tell by the uncomfortable smile on Fedor's face. Like "WTF did you just do"?

    That tells you everything about mma. some guy was spinning tires not long ago and is now challenging the p4p hw king for the title. it is still more toughman competition than anything else. rogers wouldn't last a week in any hw boxing camp, and yet he is a great striker in mma. just goes to show, it is anything but well rounded. the only thing well rounded is the man boobs on this seasons tuf... comical.

    been sayin the same thing broadway joe...it is sad when someone can jump right in and go to the top of the sport in a short time...it's actually 5 years (in rogers quote he says it)...but still..
    Name one other sport where u can jump right in and go over a league full of people who have been doing it their whole lives, lmao...
    I agree with the other guy on the t-shirt thing too...maybe when you MMA fanboys get some real jobs and start earning some money, there will be more than little t-shirt companies and hard-on pills marketed towards you so some of these fighters can start getting paid and not have to wear their freebie t-shirts everywhere they go.

    Fedor has never seen 'this' Brett Rogers....uh, Fedor has never seen any Brett Rogers, so it doesn't matter.
    Brett Rogers has never seen Fedor either.
    I could certainly be wrong, but I just do not see Fedor losing this fight. And I am not necessarily a Fedor nuthugger. I just know the dude doesn't lose.

BroHawk will win by KO his take down defense is legendary at the tire shop never been knock down by tire blown off the rim and that usually would rip a man in half.     joe has a point, but i dont think it is that simple. strikeforce really doesnt have anyone to put against fedor so they can get his name out to the public without making it a title fight. they are banking on fedor winning(and he will) so they can hype him up for a title fight(even though he is already a champion). i think that this only tells part of a story about mma, and it certainly isnt at the highest level it is ever going to be. is there more overall talent in boxing? arguably yes. does that mean mma doesnt have talented fighters who if they spent all of there time boxing couldnt be serious threats. No. This fight is a smart move by strikeforce because brett destroyed arlovski, while fedor had a little troube(but still destroyed him). People probably thing arlovski trained the same for brett as he did for fedor, and i dont think this is true. i believe arlovski severely underestimate brett, but in no way did he underestimate fedor. brett doesnt have but a puncher chance at best, but i am still wanting to see this fight. I hope strikeforce does well, becuase a 44.95 ppv for tito vs. forrest isnt cutting it, i also dont really care to see brock knocked out by carwin either. Dont care for obviouse PED fighters, just my opinion.

    It's not about finding people to fight fedor. If they wanna do it right they will create a whole league of stars and not just put all their eggs in one basket. Fedor is not exactly a man with a rep for carrying companies on his back. He will prove to be completely overrated in his marketability. If strikeforce can change it up and offer a whole different view on MMA it will be a great step for the sport itself. Maybe they could be a little more stat-heavy for instance. It seems so out of place when UFC announcers suddenly say machida has blocked 81.85% of takedowns. And strikeforce should clear their records as well. I hate hearing about how some guy is 18-2 and comes in a cage and gets mopped up in 30 seconds. In baseball your stats from japan dont count, I think it would be cool for strikeforce to recognize fights in their league only...just a few options, not necessarily thought out, but just making the point that strikeforce has a chance to be somethin good. As long as they dont try to be copies of UFC their chances are good.

    @#9 Master of Puppets is by far their most superior work...after that they faded IMHO...and the Napster fight shouldn't have been theirs, should have let some pop group take that one on...then the movie made them look like complete asses...this is coming from a guy who thought he listen to Metallica everyday till he died.
