Toronto FC fires interim coach Cummins

TORONTO (AP)—Toronto FC has dismissed interim coach Chris Cummins after the team missed the playoffs and finished with a losing record.

Toronto FC did not renew Cummins’ contract on Tuesday. The team finished the season with a 10-11-9 record.

Cummins’ coaching record was eight wins, nine losses and seven draws in 24 matches.

He was hired as an assistant coach in May 2008, taking over as interim head coach in April when John Carver stepped down.

Director of soccer Mo Johnston says the team hopes to have a new coach in place by the start of the preseason in February.

Why is Toronto never been able to come up with a really good football soccer team? I know their followers deserve it. Hope management find the formula soon.
