<p>The team with the majors' worst home record (17-28) is coming off two losses in three games to the Dodgers in a weekend series in downtown San Francisco. Monday was a travel day, and the Giants flew to New York and will begin a series against the Mets on Tuesday night.</p>
<p>It'll be the Giants' final series at Shea Stadium, which will be replaced by a new park in 2009.</p>
<p>During the homestand, manager Bruce Bochy spoke of being "in it," meaning having a chance in the weak NL West despite their poor record.
