John Danks kept hitting his target, just as he's been doing all season. The only spot he missed Sunday was one on the All-Star team. Danks pitched like he belonged, setting a career-high with nine strikeouts as the Chicago White Sox handed Rich Harden his first loss in a year while hanging on to beat the Oakland Athletics 4-3 for their 10th win in 13 games.

Gavin Floyd got his 10th win with an approach that's worked well all season and made him the biggest winner on the Chicago White Sox's staff. "Whatever the catcher throws down, I'm going with it," the White Sox's tall right-hander said Saturday after beating the Oakland Athletics with 7 1-3 scoreless innings.

Alexei Ramirez's soaring fly ball was either going to land in the glove of Cleveland left fielder Ben Francisco to end the game or clear the fence and tie it up with two outs in the 10th. The way things have been going for the Chicago White Sox lately, it was the latter. Ramirez's high fly was a game-tying homer off Indians closer Joe Borowski.

He's gotten big hits and shown a lot of people out there," Guillen said. "At the same time, where would Quentin be without us?" Nick Swisher's first look at Chicago's heated baseball rivalry came last weekend at Wrigley Field, where he enjoyed the frenetic atmosphere but not the results. Over on the South Side, the experience was much more satisfying. Swisher hit a grand slam to cap a seven-run third inning and the White Sox finally beat the Cubs 10-3 on Friday.

John Danks turned in another solid effort, even though he admittedly didn't have his best stuff. And when he handed a lead over to the Chicago White Sox bullpen, he knew he was in a great spot. Danks pitched six sharp innings and combined with four relievers for a five-hitter, leading Chicago to a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

Eric Stults almost didn't get a chance to go the distance against the Chicago White Sox after throwing 100 pitches through eight innings. Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Russell Martin lobbied manager Joe Torre to let the left-hander give it a shot, and he rewarded their faith in him. Stults needed 16 more pitches to polish off the AL Central leaders for a 5-0 victory Wednesday night.

Teams facing Mark Buehrle often end up leaving the ballpark early. Buehrle pulled a fast one on the Los Angeles Dodgers with eight solid innings, and the Chicago White Sox snapped a nine-game road losing streak with a 6-1 victory Tuesday night.
