Conor Jackson concerns himself with two statistics: RBIs and extra-base hits.
"You keep reminding yourself you are having a good year if you look at extra-base hits and RBIs" instead of stats that can fluctuate, like batting average or other percentage-driven statistics, Jackson said Thursday.
Jackson was tied for third in the NL with 32 RBIs entering Thursday when he was given a day off because of a slightly sore right hamstring, manager Bob Melvin said. He had six doubles, a career-high four triples and five home runs.
He was hitting .405 with runners in scoring position, fourth in the NL.
