MLB - Sports Rumors

“RudyFormer New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani wasn't happy with the original seats assigned to him and his wife for the first game at Yankee Stadium during the American League Division Series against the Minnesota Twins, according to the New York Post. After all, who wants to sit right behind the dugout, anyway?

So Giuliani and his wife were moved to the box seats right next to the dugout, where they sat for the second game as well. Well, it appears that current Mayor Mike Bloomberg would also like to have those prime seats that would give him plenty of television face time as he runs for a third term as mayor.

A Bloomberg "insider" is saying the story is bogus, though, and that Bloomberg will sit where he always sits a few rows back. It's certain the cameras will find him and Giuliani both at some point in the game no matter where they sit.

I would take a seat behind a column just to be at the game! I used to be perfectly happy in the $2 left field bleacher seats at Oakland Coliseum and rooting for Rickey and the Billy Ball A's!

Maybe they should have a pregame boxing match at home plate - winner gets the seats of their choice. Plenty of face time then.

Giuliani and Bloomberg might be in for some great baseball, should be a great series, i think the Yankees are doing the amrt thing and pitching CC for a possible Game 1, Game 4 and Game 7 because the other guys besides him and Burnett i don't see shutting down the Angels Offense.
If CC loses Game 1 the Yankees will be in trouble.
As long as Mike Scoissa doesn't pull a Ron Gardeniere and doesn't understand the game situation and pitch to the Steriod User Arod when the game is on the line the Angels have every reason to belive there the better team that will come out on top.
The Angels didn't own the Yankees for Years for Nothing there a matchup nightmare for the Yankees.

Why do Giuliani and his latest fling merit "prime" seats? Is this his consolation prize for failing so utterly and miserably in the last presidential race? The current Mayor I can at least understand. It appears to me; however, that these blokes always get the "prime" seats. I'm with you number 1, in fact, I'd still appreciate a $2.00 seat, but baseball has priced us "ordinary" fans out of the stadium. Enjoy the game Rudy and Mike. I've got my TV, which used to be free and is not rising in cost and will aomeday (soon probably) be out of reach for the workers of the world.

As far as Guiliani and Bloomberg is concerned, they should have a boxing match before the game in Yankee Stadium...winner gets the seats. This will not be a cake walk for the yankees like the Twins were. Speed really hurts the bombers, and the big question is whether or not they can keep figgins off the bags and contain guerrero and hunter. THe yakee outfield is going to have a hard time because these Angels are going to test their accuracy when they go from first to third on normal single hits.

    Good morning, Artist
Sounds like you might want to contact Don King for a turn at the seats. Guiliani and Bloomberg will have first blows.

#7 I cant see any Angel going from 1st to 3rd on a normal single hit to the OF. They`d be lucky to round second if the ball is hit anywhere in right field. Im calling Yanks in 5. It`d be cool to see either Bloomberg or Rudy catch a foul ball off the head hahahaha...prime seats

I am cheering against all ny teams including the yankees. i am sick of ny teams buying up all the good players hoping to buy a championship. its getting to be like all mlb teams with the exception of the ny and boston becoming ny and bostons farm teams. mlb sucks azz because of the large market teams screwing everything up!

Hey Red! How are you? Your posts are always worth a good read. I have lots of faith in the Yankees. Did you see how aggressive the base run was against the Twins? If the continue doing so, they will give the Angel's darn good competition. It’s going to be interesting.

Yea The Twins made mistakes in Games 2 and Game 3 with the poor Excution of baserunning. it probaly wouldn't have mattered though the Yankees were the more talented team.
You can't make errors like that and win Playoff Games

Sorry for my language as well, was hoping my team was in it so i could have seen the games in person. What do you think about Phil Hughes i think his confidence is shaken a little Bit, the rest of the bullpen has done there job but Hughes struggled.
What are your thoughts about the 3 man Rotation?
    I
So in a way i am mad

Red.. you are all good in book. No worries. I get you. As for Phil Hughes, I think his nerves got the best of him... young kid. I tell you that I am pretty excited with the way the starting pitchers are set up. If (bite my tongue) one of them for some reason does not have his stuff, as long as Girardi sees it in time and pulls them, I am quite confident that the bullpen will do right. In fact even if per say Pettitte needs to be pulled out let's say the 6th inning…we have Chamberlain 7th, Hughes 8th and Mo 9th. Don’t forget Aceves, Robertson and Coke (lefty specialist)...OH and Marte (another lefty specialist) and Guadin! Things are looking pretty good! Overall if aggressive base running and pitching does it thing, I can see good things happen. : )
