Dodgers owners separating

“FrankThe day the Los Angeles Dodgers are heading into the National League Championship Series against the Philadelphia Phillies also brings the news that owner Frank McCourt and his wife of 30 years, team CEO Jamie McCourt, are going to separate and it isn't clear who will end up with the team, according to the Los Angeles Times.

As Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reminds readers, the San Diego Padres had a similar situation recently when the owner Moores got very publicly and contentiously divorced and the team ended up getting sold last spring.

Guess we should have seen this coming. The McCourts didn't sit close together during the NLDS series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Obviously, this shouldn't change anything for the division series other than some seating arrangements but it will certainly be felt this off-season when free agents are starting to be signed.

    This should be the happiest time in their marriage, yet, they'd rather seperate. I remember how Ted and Jane Turner used to "do the Tomahawk" together at the Brave's playoff games. It was neat!

    Nick - Its already half hers...rumor has it she is also in the better position to buy the other half of the Dodgers from Frank...I hope it was worth it Frank :)

    I like Jamie a hell of a lot better than I like Frank. She knows more about baseball and cares more about Dodgers fans than her lousy husband. He can go back to New England and speculate on real estate again.

    I just hope one buys out the other!!!! This club has come to life over the last couple of years!! It would be a disgrace to go back to the sorry club we had earlier in the decade like when FOX owned us!!!

    OMG I went to a Dodger's day game a few years ago, brought my camcorder and got the most outstanding close-ups ever. There is mad hoochie at those games, mad! Seriously, I am not kidding man. It is f-ing insane.
