Adam McCalvy, of MLB.com, reports Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun (back) is not in the team's lineup Wednesday, Aug. 20, with tight muscles in his back. He took swings in a batting cage Wednesday and could return to the lineup Friday, Aug. 22. |

Braun (ribs) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros. Recommendation: The Brewers have a day off on Thursday so this may be a way to get Braun an extra day of rest. He still claims that it doesn't hurt as bad as when he missed all of last week, but the Brewers need him to be 100%. |

Braun left Monday's game with tightness in his lower back, the same injury that kept him out of six games recently. Advice: Braun appeared to be in pain after swinging and missing in his final at-bat in the sixth. Gabe Kapler replaced Braun. Braun said he was fine, but manger Ned Yost wasn't as certain. getting tight after that last swing, so I put 'Kap in there," Yost said. "I'll see how he feels tomorrow, but this is something I am not really interested in playing around with. I am not going to go out here and go through this every night." |
