RF Jeff Francoeur, plagued by a season-long slump, had his first four-hit game of the season Saturday against the Giants, going 4 for 5 with a double and two RBI, and scoring two runs.

Francoeur will sit out one game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cubs amid a 4-for-34 slump, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Recommendation: Francoeur has continued to struggle since his return from a three game trip to Double-A Mississippi as he's hitting just .202/.282/.260 since July 8. It sounds like he may be at risk for reduced playing time the final six weeks of the season. If the Braves thought sending him to the minors would turn his season around, it would seem some time in the minors in August may have been worthwhile.
