OF Conor Jackson was given Sunday off, his first day off since June 6. He had started every game but one since then, and in that one entered the game in a double-switch. "I'm pressing a little bit right now," said Jackson, 3 for 21 on the six-game road trip but still hitting .302. "That's the game of baseball. You go through tough streaks." |

Jackson is 3-for-21 on the team's current road trip and he'll likely receive a day off on Sunday, the Arizona Republic reports. Recommendation: "He's more worn down than anything else," Melvin said. "I can't even remember his last day off." Since July 28, Jackson is batting just .208 in his last 77 at-bats. "Obviously I'm pressing a little bit right now," Jackson said. "It seems like nothing's really falling for me. That's the game of baseball, dude. I'm going to go through streaks and it's a matter of pulling yourself out of it." |
