Oct 3 The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Joe Strauss reports St. Louis Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols (elbow) has yet to receive a recommendation from Birmingham, Ala., orthopedist Dr. James Andrews regarding his right elbow. Team doctor George Paletta and Pujols have alternately downplayed the likelihood of him needing ligament replacement surgery this winter. However, the club has not addressed a separate issue believed connected to a nerve condition in the elbow that causes Pujols occasional elbow irritation and weakness in his right hand. KFFL
