The Associated Press reports Los Angeles Dodgers manager Joe Torre said he thinks SS Rafael Furcal (back) has a good chance of returning before the end of the season.

SS Rafael Furcal will not return to the Dodgers this week. Trainer Stan Conte observed Furcal in workouts in Phoenix Wednesday; Furcal may be able to play in a rehab game or two with Single-A Inland Empire, which is in the California League playoffs. Dodger officials would not speculate on whether Furcal will play again this season at the major league level.
