Joe Smith, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Rays CL Troy Percival (knee) felt good after his first appearance Wednesday, Sept. 3, since coming off the disabled list. He said he is available to pitch again Thursday, Sept. 4. |

RHP Troy Percival was activated Tuesday after 2 1/2 weeks on the DL with a right knee problem, and will return to his closers role and said he is ready for regular duty, including back-to-back days. "I should be able to," Percival said. "I havent had any problems with (the knee). Its not like its an endurance issue. Its not like a muscle or anything like that. I havent had any repercussions the day after doing anything." |

Advice: The 38-year-old right-hander, sidelined because of cartilage damage in his right knee, had been out since Aug. 14, when he limped off the mound after fielding a ninth-inning bunt at Oakland. |
