Cards need to make him a closer and get rid of franklin

the orioles can use him on the team to mentor players, then if he has good numbers trade him to a contender. its a good situation

Can't see why the O's would want him except to mentor all their young arms. If that's the case they should just bring him in as a coach.

John Smoltz pitched some fine games for the Cards this year. He is over the hill all right, but he's still got it going.

Go Cards

Dodgers should go after him as a fourth or fifth starter. He would be fine then because they could skip him in the rotation a few times to keep him fresh or they could have him set-up for Broxton. With Smoltz added to the Dodgers bullpen, they would have the most dominate pen in baseball.

John was a great pitcher for the Braves and I loved to watch him pitch all those years; however, he is over the hill and should retire. Thanks for the memories John. Dave in Tampa

I would not mide if he was addd to the Mets. You can never have too many arms on a team.

As crazy as this sounds, the Mets might actully be able to use him in a set up role for K-Rod. I think John has some value in that role, and a veteren like that in the bullpen can go a long way. Now as a starter, I would think twice, but not the bullpen. GO METS!!!!!!
