Ben Zobrist: Opportunity Knocks Following Iwamura Trade
Update: Akinori Iwamura’s trade to the Pirates on Tuesday likely opens a spot at second base for Zobrist next season.
Recommendation: After Zobrist’s breakout 2009 season it seemed certain the Rays would find a full time place for him for the 2010 season, the only question was where he would play. Zobrist was shuffled around between the outfield and infield, particularly after Iwamura returned from injury, and as a result he’ll have second base, outfield, and likely shortstop eligibility in most leagues next season.
