NEW YORK — He may not be the pitcher he once was, but Game 2 starter Pedro Martinez(notes) still knows how to keep the New York media hanging on his every word. During Tuesday's press session, the crowd at Pedro's podium was only second to the one surrounding Jimmy Rollins(notes). This picture was taken about 55 minutes into the 60-minute availability and Martinez ended it by mugging for a few Yankees fans who were heckling him from outside the gate.

Arrogant Pedro's last hurrah. I hope he gets chased to the showers by the Yankees.

Pedro will not make it through 4 innings against the Yankees lineup! He's crafty but they will disassemble him. DJ

i'm sure 50,000 people chanting "who's your daddy" while facing a locked in A-rod should be easy for Pedro...
who wants to bet Pedro gets shelled and is out by the 3rd inning when it's 4-0 and A-rod is coming up with 2 on base? either that or he'll get pulled five minutes later... when it's 7-0.
    ;)

mp.let me remind jimmy rollings he is not playing with the dodgers weare to good to loose to them. he said phillies in 5 but is going to be the other way around,in their home and thats hurt.the marlins celebrate in our home in 2003 so now we got this chance to do the same to the phillies and this is my prediction yankees sweep.pedro is not going to last five innings and you not going to see him pitch any more.go yankees show them ho are the boss.

Love him or hate him, ya gotta admit Pedro has balls the size of Mt. Rushmore in having the courage to WANT the ball in Yankee Stadium against his old nemesis. There is something sad about it, though, as Pedro threw his back out in a macho showdown with the Yankees in their prime. It's kinda sad to see him come back into the Lion's lair with one third the stuff he used to have, while the Yankees have retooled with younger, hungrier lions like AROD and Texeira. Yes, I do think the chances are rather good he will be bombed by the Yankees, but we have said that about Pedro every time he started this season. Here's to hoping he proves us wrong. But, I will tell you one thing, EVERYBODY in the crowd tonight and in both dugouts will have tremendous respect for Pedro the man.

Yeah, they are pretty lame. yankmee fans just plain suck. They're gonna need all that ignorant, pompous and arrogant hot air to keep dry tonight in their little overpriced already crumbling playground.
