He might be busy trying to win his fifth World Series title, but that doesn't mean Derek Jeter(notes) is totally free from the bonds of making slightly-embarrassing appearances for his many endorsement deals. Such was the case during Tuesday night's episode of "The Biggest Loser" as a videotaped vision of The Captain was delivered to the biggest losers from a 24/7 Fitness in New York. Jeter delivered an inspiring speech — at least I think it was supposed to be inspiring — before handing out instructions for a challenge that involved both his hits total (2,535) and career average (.316) through 2008.
(No word on whether he gave this same pep talk to Ryan Howard(notes) before the Phillies' first baseman slimmed down last winter. Or if he's requested an audience with CC.)

never been ejected out of a game, over 2100 games played. has more hits than any yankee. ever, and is in the top 50 all time. fielding percentage over 96 percent. has won the gold glove and silver slugger 3 times apiece. been to numerous all star games. won 5 world series rings in 7 attempts.
as much as everyone hates on the yankees, its hard to overlook what he has done not just as a yankee, but as a baseball player.
