It's rather calm around the golf world these days, one of those periodic lulls, which means that small stories get elevated to larger status. (Hint: don't do anything dumb on a golf course, with a golf club, or involving a golf cart. We're on the prowl for stories, and we'll make you famous in a way you may not want.)
One of the big stories popping up over the last couple days is how President Obama invited a woman to play in his foursome for the first time as president. Melody Barnes, his chief domestic policy advisor, was the first woman to slam the trunk (note: not a euphemism) with the president in any of his 24 rounds since taking office.
And since anything the president does has to be scrutinized beyond all rationality -- seriously, political geeks are worse than fantasy football geeks -- Local Knowledge notes that CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller made the following post on Twitter: "Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24. Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months." (For the record, as Press Tent points out, Dwight Eisenhower played about 800 rounds during his two terms.)
Make of all this what you will. And since everybody loves ranting about the president, pro or con, let me throw out a whole pack of talking points. Pick one and rant away!
Here we go (deep breath): If he's playing so much golf, he can't be focusing on getting the country turned around! But if he's not focusing on getting the country turned around, then he can't inflict his ideas on those who want them! And if he's bringing more women to play, that's a good sign for a sport that's always been exclusive rather than inclusive! But since golf is traditionally a Republican sport, he could be turning more to the right! But if he's playing more golf, maybe that means golf won't be the whipping boy for all this country's ills!
I agree with all the above ideas. And none of them. I'm so confused. Where are my clubs?

three times larger then the worse on U.S. history. He's even got the Chinese nervous. They're worried
that the dollar will become worthless and all their U.S. investments also. He'll continue to blame it all on
Bush however. Bush wasn't around in march 2009 when they passed the $787 billion stimulus package.

No, Bush wasn't around in March 2009 but the aftermath of his blind faith, and stupidity, certainly led us to the stimulus package.

Obama is a true leftist but luckily for him,he's an A student and because of it he has more time to spend on the links.
Carter proved too much time at the desk makes for a bad President........and Reagan proved the reverse so.........if Barry opts for a little half and half in his coffee................and the market doesnt go haywire again.............I assume, like Clinton and George,we might be seeing his golf swing for another 11 years.

Why wouldn't anyone do this? Your loved ones do, but with that said....to much jealousy in this world, to many loafers, scoffers, and people who will say anything to live-out a preconscious anger for others they despise.
Much is said about a person who has to point out another mans wrongs without pointing out theirs first. Even more so, a person who thinks a president with his personality enjoys watching their American lives change to a reduced pint size of nothing is only living a fallacy. It is worse for them to confabulate Obama's character than see the truth behind reality. Meaning their own lives are probably (censored) because of their decisions they made. Yep! Point the finger! That's the best you will probably be able to do all your life...

was out of office and not one single republican voted for it? Hello? Obama's trying to spend money
so fast that I think he wants to bankrupt the country...why? Because then we all have to depend on
the government to save us, that's why. Anything to make the government as big as possible.
That's all they care about. We have this huge debt, but Obama wants more government.
Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Frank....Morons, all of them. But, come 2010 they all will talk about "cutting
the debt", etc. and act all conservative, and a certain amount of dummies will vote them back in again.
The stimulus was supposed to create about 2 million jobs by the end of 2009, that's what they said back
in february, the total's been closer to 2 jobs. You create jobs by cutting taxes, cutting regulations,
encouraging business and letting the private sector take over, bigger government isn't the answer.

What I really want to know is whether or not President Barack H. Obama keeps an accurate score on the golf course or does he cheat? (as Bill Clinton allegedly did. often.)

Easy- his dumb-@ss decisions when he was in office. Just because someone- regardless of where they are or who they are- does something for so many years, what they've done doesn't just magically stop the minute they leave their post. Bush (among others) DID drag us down economically, and we're still feeling the after-effects. It's not just between these two... it's historically been that way. And not just on the Federal level, but the State, county and city levels as well.
As for his golf, I say "Good on ya!". That's why I like the sport- it puts you in the moment, in an almost Zen-like state. It IS a good way to relieve stress and clear the mind. If Mr. Obama reads these, I say "Keep doing what you're doing. You have that right".
The saying is still valid today- if you don't like it, you have the right to live somewhere else. Try Venezuela or North Korea.
