Devil Ball Golf - Golf

Just before Y.E. Yang won the PGA Championship, legendary Golf Digest writer Dan Jenkins said that if Tiger didn't take the season's final major, they should rename the Bermuda major winners-only tournament the "Grand Slugs of Golf." That's pretty harsh, and more than a little unfair, but Jenkins gets the benefit of the doubt because he's covered 200-plus majors.

The Grand Slam is one of those cool, quirky little events that pop up after the season's done. It brings together the four winners of the year's majors, and nobody else, for a little mano-a-mano competition at the beautiful Port Royal Golf Course of Bermuda. And regardless of what Dan Jenkins thinks, Angel Cabrera, Lucas Glover, Stewart Cink and Yang can play some fairly decent golf.

Of the four, Glover played the best, running away with the two-day event after a brief challenge from Cink. Cabrera ended up catching Cink to finish second, and Yang, suffering from jet lag after flying all over the planet to get to the event, ended up DFL.

Still, a bad day golfing is better than a good day doing most anything else, and a bad day golfing in Bermuda is better than a good day golfing almost anywhere else. Jenkins' pronouncements aside, this could be the start of a fine golfing run from Glover. We'll have to see if he ends up back in Bermuda next year.

The whole thing seemed like a golf postcard from Bermuda. I don't think this is a bad thing. For me, it was just a fun thing to watch with them being miked and seeing how they interacted.

The Grand Slugs -- er, Slam of Golf was enjoyable to watch and a great looking course.
A shame it was only two days. Having fun and joking with each other is what golf should be.
What has DFL done since beating TW who had a putter that was not working? Just asking.

Was Tiger counting this event as one of his career PGA wins in previous years? If he was, shame on him!

Don't look at it as DFL, look at it as he finished fourth. Symantics, I know, but it sounds better.

Funny how ‘thinker’ can say or make comments about anything or anyone but others are not allowed to do so. And seems to have great knowledge about putters, perhaps he thinks all are like his.
I will mention it again (for only the 2nd time ever) had Tiger been putting/reading greens as he normally does, Y.E. would have finished in 2nd place.
Now he can give it a rest..
