Rory McIlroy isn't coming to the PGA Tour after all, despite reports to the contrary. Best part of this story? McIlroy's agent is named "Chubby Chandler." That sounds like a Dick Tracy villain or a member of the Little Rascals. Awesome! [Local Knowledge]

• Golf can be a pretty hazardous game, so if you're ever attacked by an alligator, if trees are falling all around you, or you get impaled in the groin by the sharp edge of your broken driver (AAAAAHHHH), Zip Golfer has your tips for survival! [Zip Golfer]

• A good rundown of some fine golf betting games. Know what you're getting into before you start playing, or you could go from millionaire to dead broke and writing a golf blog. Hypothetically speaking. [From the Rough]

• Many golfers are jumping from the LPGA to the Japan LPGA, since the JLPGA will have more tournaments and thus more opportunity to earn some cash. Mostly Harmless does a fine job of breaking down who'll be making the attempt to qualify through JLPGA Q-School. [Mostly Harmless]

• Charles Barkley offers up some advice for Anthony Kim and the way that sex can screw up your putting stroke. [Sports Radio Interviews]

• Federal tax credits for high-mileage vehicles? Turns out they could be used to purchase golf carts. Who knew? [Wall Street Journal]

• There's a golf course in Baltimore that's looking for your suggestions for a name. I'm thinking "Devil Ball Hills" sounds pretty lovely, but your ideas are welcome. [Waggle Room]

I think Ol Chubby gave the kid some sound advise...Play the euro tour, get all the experience and exposure under his belt, than come and give the PGA hell...this will only make him better, as the competition on the continent is getting better..I think the Euro tour is a bit more friendly also, with more comaradrie between players...Will watch for your return my friend...STUB

As for Rory, since the US Tour does not allow for appearance money, he'll make a much better living without having to make a single cut in Europe.

He's better off....the yanks cannot except any non american winning over there. They only took to Langer because his wife is a yank

Obviously, Fred E, you have never seen the reception that Paddy gets by us non-excepting yanks. Maybe you should read Rory's interview on what he thinks of golfing in America and how he has been received. Nice uninformed blanket statement though.

Pst No.5 Fred E: What makes you think us 'yanks' ever took to Langer back in the day. When he was winning Masters tournaments, nobody in the US liked him. He was slow and deliberate with no personality. It is only since he has lightened up in his old age on the Champions tour that he has become likable in the USA.
