Well I don't get the comment regarding Tiger Woods. He's a billionaire so two million is literally like pocket change.

It just goes to show you how money changes people if Tiger can blow off a couple mil like it's nothing.

I guess he had his reason for doing it. Sooner or later we will find out.

It was never about the money. It was about the quality of the presentation and the greater vision for golf

He probably had something else going on during the Open that was paying him $10 mil.

Go Chargers, I believe you are right 2 million more, for him may not have mattered. The venue, effort to bring him there to play @ AM, possible future business opportunities factored in his decision. You do seem to know your golf!

I am nevewr sure if it's jealousy or bigotry that generates so many negative Tiger Woods comments. Whatever it is I wish people would just wake up and enjoy the best golfer in the world doing the best he can at whatever it is he does all of the time!!!

    Squire Eaton
IMO it is both jealousy or bigotry a lot of times, there are people who have their favorite and just hate it when they don't win.

I read many comments about Tiger Woods some good and some bad. What I like to know is why so many hate or speak badly about the man? He is the first Billion dollar athlete and yet he gives to charities builds a center to educate kids. He is gracious when he wins as well as when he loses, to date I haven't heard him say anything negative about anybody, but I have seen other golfers make comments that was off color at best, i.e. see Fuzzy Zoeller. What does Mr. Woods do? He just downplay it or ignore it like the class act he is. Unlike many "superstar athletes" who display bad behavior and there are many out there that you can name. Mr Woods doesn't, can anybody find anything that the man has done wrong in the news? True he does use profanity when he is competing, and I wish he wouldn't because there are kids in the crowd, but still if thats the worst you can dig up on him, then I would rather have him then those other guys. Mr. Woods to date seems to want to keep a low key lifestyle take care of his family be a good husband, dad, and a good son. He does all that and more by playing golf better than the rest of the world. He is the best and rightly deserve the #1 ranking and if you think about it, its pretty impressive when you consider that he plays LESS tournaments than the other pros. Do I admire him? Yes, I do, and not just because he plays golf, but how he handle himself through the good and the bad. That people is the mark of a good man. Wish we had more athletes like him more often in news for his good deeds then the other kind.

The problem seems to me, that some people are so conditioned by their prejudices that they don't even KNOW when they are showing bigotry. And others are so used to seeing slights, [real or imagined] that they pick up and run with any comment others make. Often these are comments that would never be seen as bigoted if made about a member of the other race. What this emphasizes, is that we have very little time to work on our OWN problems, and hardly ANY to worry about what others are doing and saying.

Ok, Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl, Kobe loss to 21 year old girl, the greatest (arguably was Bill Russell) 11 rings. You do the same BS on boxing, and ,tennis, also MJ (Magic Johnson) and Kareem have 5 rings for the Lakers. And Tiger can't win them all! Do us a favor and stay on the basketball blog.

Don't you have anyone that you just don't like. Some actor or pol. I have just never liked his demeanor, although he seems more down to earth since he married and had children
