Next Match: away to Empoli, May 18 Livorno's relegation to the Serie B was confirmed after a 1-0 home defeat to Torino in the last round. The Leghorn club have won just six games this season and captain Marco Amelia has spoken of his disappointment at the clubs predicament. "We knew it was going to be a difficult campaign," he said. "But we paid a high price for our mistakes and we have been so unlucky. We are all devastated." The Amaranto travel to Tuscan rivals Empoli on Sunday and will aim to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat against a side that must win if they are to avoid joining Livorno in the second division. |
