Next Match: at home to Livorno, May 18 Empoli's hopes of Serie A survival not only hinge on a victory over Tuscan rivals, and already relegated, Livorno but also on Parma and Catania losing to Inter Milan and Roma respectively. In the last round the Azzurri fell to a 2-0 loss at Reggina. After the defeat coach Luigi Cagni stressed his side can still avoid the drop. "Now we must look ahead to the home match with Livorno," he said. "We will play until the end as we hunt for another survival." Last season both sides settled for a 2-2 draw but the Azzurri will be desperate to keep things one sided this time round. |
