Next Match: away to Racing Santander, May 18

Osasuna is one of four teams hoping to avoid relegation from the Primera Liga as the championship moves into its last round this weekend. All four teams involved depend on themselves to stay up, but Osasuna faces a tough trip to Racing Santander and must win to guarantee Primera Liga survival. A tie, or even a defeat, could be enough, given that the Pamplona-based side sits a point above eighteenth-placed Zaragoza, but Hugo Viana says only a win will do. "Zaragoza are below us, but only a victory will ensure survival and we are going to Santander to win," he said. Walter Pandiani, Ludovic Delporte and Xavier Margairaz miss out through injury, but Javier Portillo and Javi Garcia return from suspension. Osasuna currently has 43 points and no side has ever gone down with such a high total in Primera Liga history.
