Next Match: away to Real Madrid, May 18 Levante remains rooted to the bottom of the Primera Liga and was relegated four games ago after losing to Recreativo Huelva. Since then, the Valencia-based side has lost two and tied the other of its three games. Off-the-field problems have also taken their toll and Levante's players who are owed over a year's wages by the club have decided to strike for this Sunday's meaningless game at Real Madrid. Levante has already finished last and Real in first, whatever the outcome of that match were. Should Levante fail to show up, the team will be given a 3-0 defeat. The players have hardly trained this week and barring a last-minute promise of funds from the club's board, the match will not go ahead. Damiano Tommasi and Miguel Angel are injured, anyway, while Matthieu Berson remains suspended. |
