Next Match: away to Sporting Gijon, November 08 Espanyol was left hugely frustrated last weekend after conceding a last minute goal and dropping two points at home to Valladolid. The Catalans had been on the back foot for much of the second half, though, and the result was just about fair. Despite the obvious disappointment of that result, it did extend Espanyol's unbeaten run to seven matches since losing the opening two games. Mauricio Pochettino's side, in eighth place, now travels to in-form Sporting Gijon for an intriguing encounter on Sunday. "It is important we keep our run going," striker Jose Callejon said. Meanwhile, Raul Tamudo's future at the club remains unclear and he is unlikely to feature on Sunday. Ivan De La Pena and Carlos Kameni have knocks, but should be fit. Nico Pareja returns from suspension and will start. |
