 Team Report
Next Match: at home to Getafe, November 22

Espanyol lost the first two games of the season, but embarked on an impressive seven-match unbeaten run after that. However, that came to an end as the Barcelona-based side went down 1-0 at Sporting Gijon before the international break. Mauricio Pochettino's side dominated that match, but was unable to convert chances and will hope to fare better at home to Getafe on Sunday. Espanyol will be motivated in that match, having gone out of the Copa del Rey at the hands of the Madrid-based outfit recently, albeit having fielded an under-strength side in both matches. Raul Tamudo could return following an unseemly contract wrangle with the club, but Ferran Corominas and Ivan De La Pena are set to miss out. Luis Garcia is doubtful.
