 Team Report
Next Match: at home to Werder Bremen, October 04 Europe: UEFA Cup (First Round)

Stuttgart coach Armin Veh had a personnel crisis ahead of Thursday's UEFA Cup tie with Cherno More Varna. Matthieu Delpierre was ill and doubtful for the trip while Khalid Boulahrouz was ruled out with torn muscle fibres in his left thigh. "If he (Delpierre) also misses out, then we have a problem," admitted Veh. Boulahrouz has since undergone tests and has been ruled out for at least a fortnight, forcing him out of Holland's World Cup qualifiers too. Pavel Pardo, Jan Simak and Yildiray Basturk were also ruled out of Thursday's clash while they are unlikely to return for the Bundesliga fixture at Werder Bremen on Sunday either.
